We stayed overnight recently on a short trip from Orange County. We were so thrilled with this place that we can’t wait to come back again and explore the area more. The hotel itself is quaint and beautiful. The grounds were covered with an array of flowers and then apple trees were blossoming so it felt like we were in Kyoto during cherry blossom season. We spent a bit of time walking around outside the lobby and the wooded areas around the end. The staff could not be nicer or more helpful. The evening happy hour with charcuterie was amazing, and when we returned from walking downtown later, they lit the fire pit in the field outside our window and we enjoyed a long evening With some wine by the fire to end the day. In the morning, we were met by an absolutely wonderful breakfast, complete with mimosas made with local apple cider instead of orange juice (orange juice was also available). Far better food than you will normally find with an included breakfast at a hotel. The property is an easy walk to the main drag in Julian. You can visit the shops and maybe spend some time at the Julian brewery as we did and then stroll back to the hotel We walked to the mine tour up the hill on Sunday morning and that was a lot of fun also. Everything within walking distance. While checking out at noon on Sunday we already knew we would be coming back as soon as we could find time. We give this place an A .

Great place! Feels secluded in the mountains but only a minutes walk into town. The private cabins are perfect with all the amenities you need. Happy hour at the main reception great and the staff amazing. Highly Recommend

From the moment we arrived at Orchard Hills, we were met with warmth and hospitality. Karolyn greeted us with such kindness, even gifting us a bottle of wine to celebrate our recent wedding. The invitation to join their happy hour was a delightful surprise, and we were impressed by the attentive and friendly staff throughout. Karolyn’s care made us feel truly at home. The live music by Rachel Richie added an extra touch of magic to our stay. Orchard Hills quickly became one of our favorite experiences, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable getaway.

Everything about our stay was perfect. Expedia did change our room selection, but it was fine. Room was cozy and private. Staff and service was exceptional. Breakfast and afternoon beverages and charcuterie boards were amazing! The perfect place to celebrate our anniversary! Thank you for a wonderful time!!

Orchard Hill was a wonderful surprise when we drove up. It’s beautiful, serene and very well maintained. Staff is great, all amenities over the top: afternoon wine and charcuterie, morning breakfast, fabulous chocolate cookies at check in. 5 stars for sure!

We stayed just for a night, however enjoyed the stay, the happy hour, the live music and the rain. Breakfast was nice too and all the staff was very friendly. We were very happy and satisfied with the stay.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Orchard Hill so much that we chose to stay an extra night. It was such a cozy room in which to enjoy the rain storm curled up with a glass of wine in the window nook. The staff was friendly and helpful with dining, shopping and photography suggestions. Thank you Chris!! Btw, breakfast was awesome. We will definitely be returning.

What a lovely place this is! My partner and I stayed in the main lodge in room 6. We had a beautiful balcony overlooking the grounds. There's a water feature with a small pond with fish and plenty of trees. They provided breakfast each morning with eggs and bacon and fruit and mimosas. It was delicious! The people there are so friendly and helpful. In the late afternoon they offer complimentary Hors d’Oeuvres and drinks. Everything is clean. The decor is well thought out. The views from the dining area are lovely. Live music in the lodge on Saturday night. Parking is a breeze. It's two blocks from the main street in Julian. So easy to stroll into town, get a pie, go to the bookstore and shop the shops. No need to worry about finding parking. Which is a relief because Julian gets busy busy on the weekends. It doesn't matter if it's cold and rainy, people come from all over to visit Julian. Orchard Hill is so close yet when you get to the lodge it's so calm and quiet. Cute little outdoor seating areas around to enjoy. Absolutely worth every penny.

We loved our quick trip to orchard hill. The lodge is peaceful and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the happy hour as well as breakfast near the fire. Our cabin was cozy and overall a good experience. Bed was comfortable and we loved relaxing by the fire. The only things lacking were the bathtub with no shower. The tub looked very old/worn and patched up, with a soft spot. So I attempted a shower with the hand held but you couldn’t move it from the attachment…. So it was awkward and not the best. Second thing is the tv in room could have been better. No major issues, just those minor inconveniences. I know they are modernizing from the previous owners so maybe more cabin updates are coming. We loved the stay as a quick mountain escape and I hope we’ll be back!

We had a quick getaway for our wedding anniversary and a stay at Orchard Hill was perfect. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. When we checked in, we had some coffee and cookies/brownies in the lobby/lounge. We stayed at Gladstone and it was so cute. Nice fireplace, tub with keys, very clean. It was a very peaceful stay. My husband didn’t like the bed but i didn’t mind it. Happy hour and breakfast was included and everything was yummy. Lots of outdoor seating to enjoy nature and a small game room to hang out in. 1st generation charging for Tesla available and free, just needed to charge overnight. Getting into town is a quick walk downhill for 5 mins. Will totally come back!

The Orchard Hill property is such a lovely and convenient property in a fantastic location in Julian, they treat their guests with such lovely treats such as a wonderful daily breakfast, afternoon cookies and a cocktail hour with a wine/cheese selection all enjoyed by a roaring wood fire. The staff at this resort are 1st class esp Matthew who offered dining recommendations and kept our fireplace cozy while offering entertaining stories about the area. But really everyone here was so amazing. The beds are super-soft which was the only down side for me as I prefer more firmness but everything else was perfect and we cannot wait to return to this lovely property. Thank you!

Just Go There
Staff is amazing...room in main lodge was comfortable. Happy hour serves beer and wine in front of huge fireplace...breakfast was tasty and lots of goodies along with Mimosa's...after that only made it about 50 yards down the hill landing in the hammock and not moving for a while....by the way, must try the chocolate chip cookies fresh baked on site at check in....town below is very boring regardless of what you read on the internet but the lodge makes it all worth while

Orchard Hill Inn took amazing care of us and all of our wedding guests from the moment we booked our rooms. They sent us text messages before our stay to let us know when and where to check in. They had live music and complimentary happy hour in the lobby every evening. The included continental breakfast was a great variety and the food was incredible. The hotel was so cozy and comfortable that we really weren’t ready to leave after just one night!

Charming and super quaint. Everything seems so new and fresh. The free breakfast is practically gourmet with the very best omelettes and crousaints my wife and I have ever had. The staff is as warm and friendly as you can get. And to be 1 block from downtown Julian....adds so much to the experience.
