If, like me you come to Jerash to see the Roman ruins, then the location of this hotel is perfect, the hotel literally overlooks Hadrian Gate, which is a major sight in its own right and is the gateway to the whole complex.
Sure, there is a main road between the two, but that just a fact that the Roman Ruins are now within the city of Jerash.
The hotel is located close to a number of places to get food and within reasonable walking distance to a very highly respected (although somewhat over rated in my opinion) Lebanese restaurant
The hotel itself is pretty small and simple in nature. Expedia has it as a 3 star, in my experience I would say it was more like a 2 star by US standards, but that is in no way a bad thing, it just reflects the simple nature of the establishment.
I had the full guided tour and can say that all the rooms are clean and well maintained and have all the basics including a fridge. There is good Wi-Fi and hot water. Bathrooms are adjacent and depending on the room booked may be shared or exclusive.
The stand out though is the room on the top floor. Expedia has it as loft, but in reality, it’s more like a suite. There is the bedroom, simple but nice, adjacent private bathroom, and a huge private roof top patio, replete with a fountain and amazing views of the Roman site and surrounding country side.
The hotel is owned and run by Ismail and his son and they are fantastic hosts, super helpful and very genuine people.
