"This is a Hotel from the early 20th century. It has wonderful character. It doesn't have AC but does not really need it due to being up in the mountains at about 3500 ft. a room fan and open window was more than adequate. We had small issue with a smoke detector battery getting low and the detector started chirping at 4 in the moring. They don't have over night staff so it was fixed in the morning while we were out and fixed by noon. They do have a weekend breakfast that was very good. ...

"I was enchanted by this property. Having a pool, bar, restaurant was much less important than sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch with a blanket. The property was beautiful. I really enjoyed talking to the manager. He was very helpful and gave me information on the history of the property.
The room was comfortable and had everything I needed.
I will be staying here again when in Waynesville. An absolutely beautiful property."

"My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to stay here. OMG!! The staff there is TOP TIER! Best customer service I have EVER had in a hotel setting! "I booked here for the view of the river from the room, and it was amazing. The room was very spacious. However, the wall paper in the bathroom was peeling away. You could see light all the way around the door. The eaves on the river side was rotten with missing parts that had fallen away. The toilet was so low it seemed like a daycare toilet. There was hair and a bug in the bath tub."

"I absolutely loved this property! I didn’t want to leave!! Location was perfect. Bull frogs, birds even the light rain was relaxing. We stayed in the Mountain Laurel Yurt and it was amazing. Clean, upgraded, very luxurious!
We had two elk wander in to drink from the pond and they were so beautiful!
I highly recommend this property and can’t wait to return!"
