The location of the Bosphorus Apartments is spectacular - they are located in a local neighborhood with little, if any, tourist traffic. It's about a ten minute walk to the ferry and metro terminal, making travel within the city convenient and easy. The area felt rather safe at night, although there was one demonstration during our six-night stay, it was contained and not very loud.
The major disappointment we had with the hotel was the thinness of the walls. Next door to us, the family had a child that screamed all day - no exaggeration! Early in the morning to the night, no matter the hour, that child was screaming, and we filed multiple noise complaints but the staff on call did absolutely nothing. The internet was spotty at best - again, we complained, and the employee did not help us until the next day. The hotel would have been at least four stars without the terrible neighbors we had, which could have been ameliorated by a proactive staff.
Also, the maids would constantly move our stuff around and take stuff from the room. One night, we returned our room to find no pillows! The next night, the duvet had disappeared. It was strange and inconvenient, and we had to keep asking for this stuff to not be taken from our room. I've traveled quite a bit, but that was a new one for me!
If you have kids, this is the place to go. However, probably not the best choice for couples looking for a romantic and quiet getaway.
