The only good thing is that if you are a smoker is allowed to smoke in room all other things are wrong, dirty and not working.

The place is horrible, none of the pictures are actually true to what the rooms are. The rooms are dirty, sheets are old, pillows are old and have molds on them. there is no cleaning of the room once you check in. the bathroom smells moldy and old. the bathroom is not clean, dark and dirty. They are not helpful and rude, they did not give me the room I reserved, they said it was not ready and they will give it to me the next day, when I went they said no stay in the room you are in, I left for 2 days on a trip in turkey, I came I saw the room all cleaned and everything I had in it was taken out. they did all that without asking me or apologizing. The internet is horrible. Overall, I would not recommend this room.

They first gave me a room that was extremely dirty and in terrible condition. After complaining, they said you should pay more $25 to give you a standard room. They even didn't reimburse my money. staff very unprofessional

I missed first day because of flights and when I came second day they had no room. They put me in room next door and it was 2/10 but after 40 hours traveling I needed rest. By next morning the room opened up and was put back at promise and compared to room I was in this was 8/10 for sure. I was not looking for fancy just clean and comfortable, staff was super helpful I had booked for 3 days so I could get here and find where I wanted to stay for duration and I did leave. I would stay again as transitional hotel while looking for the amenities I want during holiday very friendly helpful staff.

This hotel is infested with cockroaches ,every time you reach your room , you need to kill at least a dozen that are roaming around including your mattress and pillow. the situation is horrible , when receptionist was informed he just showed up with a locally made solution that he sprays around and does nothing and the next day the insect infestation prevails.

No heaters, electricity turns off few times a day randomly, no WiFi it only works in the reception lobby, they don’t clean your room unless you have to keep asking, every day you see handful of cockroaches and other bugs crawling under the bed and tables, toilet is disgusting and smells of dead rats the toilet it’s all brown and black from dirt that they don’t clean, owner is a scammer be prepared to pay extra 10% on arrival by card or have the option to pay by cash and end up paying double if you’ve paid by card already

This is a good option for budget travellers ($20 for a single room with a shower), but in a quite noisy area so prepare not to sleep until 4am, especially on the weekend. I always stay in this hotel bc it's just an overnight for me in transit between 2 countries, you cant find a cheaper centrally located clean place with a helpful staff like Promise

Worst Hotel EVER!
Horrible. So bad that I don't even want to relive the experience long enough to leave a review. The room was filthy, the bathroom looked like something out of a science fiction movie. I left after the first night after having paid (and not reimbursed) for six. If I was put on this earth for any reason at all, it was to keep you from suffering the indignity of just stepping into the lobby of this dump.

Cheap options with no frills
I use this hotel for short (1-2 days) stay purpose and find it suitable for my needs as it has air conditioned rooms, internet and very cheap price. However, this time they had issues with credit card payments, and I had to pay cash on the spot. However, the staff is very friendly and helpful and showed me where to get cash from my bank.

Comfortable, clean, warm room, hot water with shower supplies and a TV- all of this for $18! Perfect place to sleep over comfortably (room is small so you cant do much there besides sleeping).

The location is right in between bars and at night there are lots of street workers and poor people asking for money roaming the streets. It didn't feel that safe walking at night with a family with young children. The rooms are decent not the best by far but also not the worst. The music of the night clubs will keep you up all night.

Rudeness from staff, and cockroaches:(
We were treated with rudeness from the hotel manager and his daughter ,soon as they seen myself a white British and my partner who is black African, They treated us both especially my partner with discontent.i do not know where to begin on what we had to put up with, they never greeted us,never smiled and only spoke awkwardly towards us, there was a stage they stood in front of my partner, stopping him from entering our hotel room, demanding to see his passport, even though they had seen mine at the day of booking in,they had the cheek to say the room was booked for me only, which i booked for two of us, they had checked my passport to see if it corresponds with the payee of the hotel room, so had no need to check my partners, luckily he had it on him..The hotel was infested with cockroaches spent most of my evenings squatting them in my room, so i could sleep more at ease.. The room was very small, the toilet was tiny and you could not sit on it properly , you had to sit side ways on and i am not a large women...On the day we were booking out they asked if we had used the mini bar, and if we had drank the 3 cans of cola and the 2 small bottles of water,they then asked for £10.00 for the drinks, thank goodness we had not used the cans only the 2 small bottles of water, they then asked for £5.00... i basically by then told them on what i thought of there lousy services..They did not say have a nice trip home etc.. I would advise anyone not to stay at the promise hotel.

I will never ever go back there. The hotel is located very close to nightclubs, so expect noise and bunch of drunk people which means security is a big issue there. The hotel's building is very old. Most importantly, the rooms are really small. 2*4 meter. You can hardly sit on the toilet and a small shower (no bath tub of course). It's one of the hotels that reminded me of the Hotels.com advertisement about ``freaky room''. The hotel is so small and scary. Never go there. With the same price, get a hotel farther from taksim, and take metro or bus to taksim. I am still shaking from that hotel. Of course, no view. the view is another about-to-fall-down building. I really wonder why they given this hotel 3 stars. isn't worth half a star.

Location was great, if you're looking to go to bars/clubs and stumble back! Perfect area for nightlife. Noisy from the clubs, but if you're staying for nightlife then this isn't too much of an issue. However, the bathroom was not well ventilated and was extremely moldy. I chose the hotel bc of the price and location to the nightlife. On a cheap budget for the weekend, so things like noise or basic accommodation is no problem. However the mold was unbearable and I don't think id return.

The bathrooms needs some arrangements and at night there is a lot of noise in the street, but for the price and location it is a good option if you are looking to travel with a low budget, anyway you will spend the entire day outside.

Nice hotel in city center.
When I booked a room hotel promise I take care of the other guest rewiev .Most of them are right ..hotel was clean, staff was excellent.Location is number one.Price is avilable I didnt expect more but I got more then it.İt was nice fot me I can recomend everyone.

i have booked for 2 days to stay in this hotel; when i arrived to hotel they sold my room and cancelled my confirmed booking without informing to me, and they told me that they do not have available room for my booking days. i was lucky to find new hotel after i arrived ( Star Life hotel in Taksim) Star life hotel-Taksim was very clean, close to major street and friendly employees. i strongly do not recommend Hotel Promise.

The staff and the owner were very friendly. I definitely liked the service they provided. I stayed in several hotels during my stay in Istanbul and this one was my favorite hotel out of all. I liked cleaning and WİFİ speed. The location is another major plus with this price. Definitely recommend this place to others.

The worse experience in my life!
A lot of noise. It is the same like you're sleeping in a bar. The rooms are very small. The staff are OK, but the owner is very gready. I had made a non-refundable for 4 nights, but we left the hotel afer 2 nights. It was not possible to sleep at the night because of noise.

Great location
Hotel is conviniently located near Maksim Square and İstiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue). It is very close to the clubs, bars and restaurants of the area. Staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeble. Very basic room but very neat and clean. Some reviews mentioned noise which can be an issue to some people but the sound of music from nearby venues did not disrupt my sleep.

the location overall location is good which is in Taksim, but the exact location of the hotel is so bad, its in an area filled with bars and night clubs, its so crowded and so noisy and quite unsafe, the loud sound of music keeps running until 3 am and 5 am during the weekend, the price is expensive regarding to the poor location and the services and the rooms! the room is so tiny its 1.5m X 4m including the bathroom !!!! you can't do anything in the room other than sleeping (if you could with all the noise outside), you can't even fit your luggage! the maintenance was not good, there was a problem with the shower, also the room wasn't so clean. I went there in December/2012 when I go back to Turkey I will never under any situation stay there again!

Not bad for a weekend in Taksim
The single rooms are tiny, as has been pointed out. But the location is absolutely perfect, stumbling home from Nevizade being quite easy. The staff is responsive and my room was cleaned daily. Not at all bad.

I stayed for 6 nights, the staff were very friendly and speaking English well (something hard to find on Istanbul) .. The room was very clean , it was too small but it's acceptable while you gonna just stay on the hotel for sleeping.. There was some continuous noise at late night from the bars & clubs surrounding the hotel, but it was OK to me as my window was closed & the A/C always running.. The WiFi was really good with high speed.. The best thing on the hotel is the location (close to everything) & the staff..
