This hotel needs update. It’s like 1.5-2 star hotel. The breakfast is decent. The only reason to stay there if you’re visiting historical sites. Maybe one or two days is plenty of time. And then I would find another hotel out of the area.

Hotel is at very nice location and staff is very friendly. Room was quite small in size but overall just enough. Hotel has a pool, hamam and sauna and excellent breakfast option. I would recommend staying at this hotel. Excellent value for the money.

Poor hotel management
The hotel was good value for the price. The location was good with easy access to main shopping areas and metro to visit the cultural sites. The pool area was chaotic. We booked this hotel because it had a pool.and sauna but the staff in the pool area made you feel unwelcome. The staff were using the changing rooms for personal showers The changing room was crammed with the staff who were doing their makeup and cleaning at the same time and getting ready for massages. We arrived down at 1130 am each morning ..the pool and sauna was supposed to be open at 11am but it was never ready with mops and buckets all over the place and no clean towels. I think the pool was managed separately from the hotel and focused on a dubious massage business. The hotel staff upstairs were very courteous and efficient.

Good budget hotel.
The location of this hotel is around 10 mins walk to Taksim Square . However the rooms are very small, request a room on the top floor, and the housekeeping is average.

Clean but on the small side.
Good clean hotel close to Taksim square. Slightly further away than others down hill a little. Rooms,bed bathroom were a bit small. Good breakfast offering.

Great location to stay in Istanbul
We were a group of 10 friends wanting to enjoy Istanbul and we found on internet this hotel in Taksim square. The location was really good, walking distance from very good restaurants and the tram/metro station gave us good access to visit the Hagia Sofia Museum, the Bazaar, the Blue Mosk, Galata Tower, Galata Bridge and so on. The hotel room was very clean, spacious enough, nice bathroom, nice breakfast, only the wifi was poor and no view but again the location was just great.

We loved our stay at Berjer Boutique Hotel and Spa. We were very skeptical about our stay when we read some negative reviews, but it turned that all our concerns were baseless and in turn we had an awesome stay. The rooms are small but cozy and the bed is so comfy. The room was super clean and everything you need is there from slippers to toothbrush, Etc. The AC is controlled by the guest and not like some reviews that said management control the central AC. The breakfast buffet was almost the same except for some new options every morning. The breakfast area is kind of small but we never had an issue finding a table for us. We went at different times and every time we were seated without wait. The hotel is located in close premises to Taksim, Istiklal Street and the metro. It’s just 5-6 mins walk. You just have to walk up hill but it’s not a big deal. Also, there is a market on the way to Taksim so make sure to grab bottled water on your way to hotel or Taksim. On the other side, there is a steep road that you will not use while at the hotel unless you want to go to BIM market and it’s a nice walk in the small alleys where you will see mini markets but the way up might be exhausting if you are not well fit. However, I don’t see a reason why you want to go that way. The WiFi was ok. Slow at times especially at night and you have to log in every time you return back to the hotel. It was such a nice stay at Berjer Hotel, staff were really helpful and nice specially Mr. Korhan (I don’t know if I’m saying his name right or no) Rooms were clean but too small. Location was really good it was walking distance to taksim square and most of the attractions. Wifi was good. Breakfast wasn’t the things that I expected, not that bad though.

1. The hotel is on a steep slope, so be careful of that. 2. The Expedia entry for the "Standard Room" says room with view. There was no view considering the room was on the ground floor of the hotel and the "view" was the wall of another building. 3. The hotel description says there is dry cleaning. However, there are no such facilities. They did have a policy of "we'll give you an iron and you can iron yourself", however the iron was also faulty as it had some burnt plastic on it and so unusable. 4. With the exception of one manager almost none of the staff speak English.

The hotel is great but the spa is not good.
The spa team is not helpful. Its cost is so high and we should to pay also for the pool!! Why you told us its free?! Otherwise. The hotel is great. Highly recommended.

The hotel is more of a 3 stars than a 4 stars hotel. The lobby, room, and breakfast room are small. Housekeeping and room cleanliness should be improved. The breakfast and wifi signals are good. The location is very good as it is 5 minutes walking to taksim square. The entrance of the hotel might not be comfortable for elderly or people with disabilities.
