"Our room was large and extremely comfortable with the bonus of a sofa to sit on and a view out over the river. We were lucky enough to get a brief sunset over the river on the first night. Everywhere was furnished to a high standard and was spotlessly clean. "The Murray Arms requires updating and some investment. The decor is as it was when my in-laws were growing up in Gatehouse in the 50s, the menu is also stuck in this time vortex. Our family room was clean and basic. Unfortunately the Wi-Fi and the TV did not work. I have a feeling this is a common problem but no one is willing to spend the money to fix it. We had our evening meal in the 'refurbished' dining area with its damp ceiling and musty smell. The quality of food was poor and overpriced....
