"Great hotel in the middle of town. Close to all restaurants and boat docks. The staff is very friendly and kind. The hotel can be a little noisy at night with all the people walking around the streets. "
"Our stay at Bocas Paradise Hotel was excellent, primarily due to its unbeatable location.
The Highlights:
Prime Location: Being right on the main street of Isla Colon made it incredibly easy to explore the town, find dining options, and soak in the local atmosphere.
Tour Convenience: If you're planning on doing any excursions, this is the place to be. The boat tours are located right next door, which made our morning departures seamless.
Atmosphere & Noise: While the hotel is close to the nearby clubs, we found the noise levels to be perfectly manageable. I had packed earplugs just in case after reading previous reviews, but we actually never needed to use them.
Overall, a great home base for anyone looking to be in the heart of the action in Bocas del Toro!"
"We had a great experience at Lula’s. It is a very friendly B&B. The location is great, the breakfast is served in the kitchen giving a familiar vibe and the hosts are really friendly and caring."
"There was nothing we didn't like about the Bungalows! They were very clean, comfortable and the view from the deck was gorgeous. Our hosts, Alfred and Sonia, were so helpful and generous. They shared tips about the islands, and booked the water taxis, so we were never stranded or overcharged. Sonia is the "Queen of Breakfast". Jerry, the chef, was not only an excellent cook, but he was also very atuned to our tastes and requests. The rooms are fully stocked, and if we needed anything, it was supplied (we borrowed fins and umbrellas). If you get a chance to go here, do it!"
"All great, handy location but none of the patio doors lock so had to lug all valuables and equipment around as room was not secure. Friendly staff at front counter."
"Ok. Here is a review to help people as I have seen some bad reviews. This property is not a $1500/night maldives room. It needs some TLC - some deck boards and railings are at end of life, as are some chairs. We stayed in the master suite and really liked the place. Water is crystal clear, master suite has the best fish viewing, owners are really friendly and eager to please, food and drinks are decent - fresh OJ for the tequila sunrise! The charging station at the reception is not a big deal. I don’t need tvs. Fans kept us cool and it rained almost every night. There were a couple minor damp spots after rain but did not need the provided container. For the price this place is 100% worth it. I would go back in heart beat. If you need a blow dryer and straight iron and other high powered appliances to feel like you at home and need to watch your reality TV on a big screen, you might want to skip this. If you want a great relaxing location and unique experience - do it! "
"My husband and I recently stayed at Aqui Hoy for 4 nights and while it was a bit isolated, it was a relaxing and peaceful location. We had the place to ourselves, so that was lovely, but I do think that having neighbours in the adjoining cabin would have impacted on our privacy, had there been someone in the room beside us. Katy and Marcel were welcoming and friendly. It was an added bonus to have a restaurant on site. The food was wholesome and reasonably priced. As were the local beer options. We made use of the kayaks on hand, and enjoyed the sun in the lounge chairs. Marcel took us out to Hospital Point to do some snorkeling one day, and that was a good outing. A few improvements that would make for a better stay would be to have a sliding screen door so that a breeze can come through in the evening and at night, since there is no AC, and the no-see ‘ems come out at dusk and in the morning. It would have nice to have had more options for breakfast. And we were a bit surprised that we had to settle our tab in cash, but could charge the amount for our nightly stay. Aqui Hoy is a solid 3 star accommodation, better than ok as the rating seems to denote in Expedia."
