"We had a very enjoyable stay overall. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout, with a special mention for housekeeping, who did an excellent job and were always pleasant.
Our panoramic bungalow was great — quiet, comfortable, and with a wonderful view. It felt very peaceful, which was exactly what we wanted. The hotel grounds were also beautifully kept and clearly well looked after.
The main area for improvement was breakfast. There was a good spread, and the cold food was very good, but it became a bit like Groundhog Day, with exactly the same food every morning and even the same music tracks playing at the same times each day. The English-style hot food was poor: the bacon was more like warmed-up ham, the scrambled eggs were lumpy, and the sausage was inedible.
One other point: although this is advertised as an adults-only hotel, we did see several youngsters who looked as young as around 14, which felt a little odd given the description.
Overall, we had a lovely, relaxing stay and would still recommend the hotel, especially for the setting, the views, the quietness, and the excellent staff. With a better and more varied breakfast, it would be even stronger."
