"After a long drive, it was lovely to open the door to a warm reception area and a warm welcome from staff. Thought the house had rambling stairs lots of doors and maybe not excellent in state of decoration everything was clean .Bedroom welcoming and bathroom sparkling!The deep bath and loads of hot water was very welcome as was power of the shower the next morning .Room service and breakfast delicious "

"Originally I was a little worried when we found out that our room had no window--only a skylight--and it was rather warm. But Nicola (hope I've spelled that right) very kindly found us a much nicer room. Breakfast was good and the staff were all unfailingly pleasant and helpful to deal with. I like the history behind the place. It's been a hotel since the 1850s. It could do with a few touch-ups here and there but it was very comfortable and the fact that there was a bar right in the building was...
