"Picture a tall Motel 6 with an ocean view without a balcony to sit and enjoy the fresh air and view, just to be admired from a window.
The area seemed a little sketchy at night, with odd characters roaming the paved path right below our room half the night.
It felt overpriced for the experience.
The rooms are set up very oddly as well. The bedrooms were located just off the main hall so people are constantly walking by making it not feel very private with visible gaps from the sides of the curtains, especially being right near the elevator. In addition, the room with the view is an odd living room with a weirdly angled, uncomfortable couch. The decor was somewhat drab and dated, and the whole room gave off a sort of dingy vibe.
Overall takeaway, if you're on a tight budget for an ocean getaway, I guess it works in a pinch, but next time I will probably spend a little more for upgraded accommodations. No offense to the Ebb Tide meant."
"Do not recommend! Stayed for 5 days in room 206. Dirty room with furniture not dusted and mold in the shower. There are smashed bugs on the ceiling above the shower and what looks like blood stains on the front door that could be easily wiped off. Very dirty hotel. Housekeepers did not come by to make our room or replenish toiletries or towels our whole stay. The only time they came by was to ensure we were checking out on time on our last day - and they did that twice. Worst of all, our toilet clogged from regular use and when I went to let the front desk know, the bum at the front desk tried handing me a plunger. Not sure how this hotel has such high reviews on this website. Beware."
"We LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Annie is the BEST! Ask her any question and she is full of delightful answers that make your stay even more comfortable. This place is a hidden gem with great walkways through the dunes onto the beach. It is clean, quiet, and peaceful. We try to come as often as possible. If you can try to book the condos. They bring convenience in ways we had not expected. With a bedroom plus a bed by the sliding doors, two full bathrooms, and a kitchen that has everything you need to cook with. They even had board games available in the hutch beneath the tv. The view from the second and third floors are amazing. You can see and hear the ocean without any distractions. We will be coming back many times going forward!"
"The room we got was definitely not one that was remodeled like the pics online. It was dated, bathroom kind of gross. The bed was a memory foam mattress that nearly crippled my husband.
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was okay. The view and location made it worth while."
"This is our 4th time staying at the Hi-Tide, and we enjoyed it very much!!
We love the old school feel, and that it is within walking distance to the little town of Seaside. The ocean view is the main reason we chose this hotel. We used the indoor pool and hot tub numerous times during our visit.
We ran into a couple of people who were not happy with their visit. They had complaints that we did not find relevant. Our beds were very comfortable, our room did not have a 'funky' smell.
We know it is an older waterfront hotel and that is the charm of it!
Breakfast was minimal, with the basic grab and go. We brought food to cook, so that was not and issue with our stay. The warm cookies served at 6pm were a highlight for my companion.
We would certainly recommend this hotel! It is reasonably priced, staff are so nice, housekeeping and groundskeeper were always taking care of the property!
This is the only place we would stay for our visit to Seaside"

8/10 Good
"Bathroom smelled like mold. When you pull open the shower curtain there was mold across the bottom and mold on the ceiling.
The staff was great and friendly. Breakfast was good and kid approved. They changed it up every couple of days.
The hotel design and feel is old, but to be expected for old buildings and was not a problem.
The location and view was great."
