"This hotels location is great! The rooms are above a bar but we didn’t hear any noise all night. The biggest problem was that the shower flows out of the shower so we kept soaking towels to keep the water in and then it seemed to be a big deal when we had asked for more. I’m not sure what was said but one worker argued with another in front of us back and forth before we finally got some. There is a mini fridge and coffee and tea and basic cooking stuff as well as a stove. The balcony is cute though it seems they could maintain some things a little better. The latch on the door was barely hanging on and some handles were missing on the storage but the beds were comfy and the room was clean.
Overall we would stay here again though we ended up leaving early due to running out of things to do near by. I do not recommend the bar for food, 2 veggie tacos were around $35 USD
Though I do realize Aukeryri is a bit more pricy than some of our other stops."
"Would stay here again! This was a fantastic hotel for our trip around the Ring Road. The style was beautiful and charming, the toiletries (including the Dyson hairdryer in each room!) and mugs/espresso machine were fantastic, and the breakfast was unmatched. Highly recommend!"
"The separated toilet/sink and shower areas on opposite sides of the room with the bed in the middle was not an ideal layout. Having to essentially walk in a U shape to go from the shower to the sink area was annoying. There was no fan so had to keep the windows open during showers. The shower area had very minimal storage space so that was a disappointing and hard to maneuver. There was also only a shower curtain to keep the water at bay but that barely does anything so it was a super wet area. There was no sliding door separation into the shower area (like the toilet) and unfortunately it’s just a shower curtain to block off some privacy when showering only. One side of the bed had no outlet and I had to charge my stuff at the desk area with the room phone etc. However, greatly appreciated the various storage spaces the room had."
"It’s peaceful with the best views. Perfect for a couple looking for quiet and a cozy stay. The stairs to the loft are pretty narrow and steep but we didn’t mind it at all.
I wish we had more time to explore the area. Host ha d a list of suggestions of things to do which is really helpful.
Will definitely stay here again if we ever come back in the future."
"I booked a triple room with Expedia and the listing says: three twin beds. Hotel Kea gave me: two twin beds and a sofa bed... If i wanted a sofa bed i could have booked anywhere else... When we told Hotel Kea our rooms were incorrect they said there was nothing that they can do.
Maybe there was some sort of miscommunication between Expedia and Hotel Kea. But if you were to book a hotel, why take the risk? I recommend you book elsewhere and save yourself the trouble."
