"Lovely hotel in good location to the beach. Small car park with £15 daily charge which doesn’t guarantee your space, you may lose the space if you go out! However there is free parking on West Overcliff Drive, but get there early to get a space. Follow the road round to find a space. There is a car park right next to this road also, but you may as well try a free space! Dog friendly hotel with seperate dining room and we were surprised by how many dogs. "I really loved the Red Lion, the whole place is truly well kept, the furniture and the decorations including the lovely framed prints are all amazing and the whole atmosphere is very welcoming and cosy. My room was very clean and reasonably spacious. I could not recommend the Red Lion more watmly. Very happy customer. Many thanks to the corteous staff too!"

Great location

"Checkin was very brief, receptionist was busy helping someone else so started to check us in even though we were happy to wait. Didn’t give us any info on breakfast etc, good job we had stayed here before! Bed was very uncomfortable and very squeaky floorboards in the bedroom but room was very clean and spacious. Location is spot on for the beach and town, in walking distance. You do have to pay for the car park but roads close by are free to park if you are lucky enough to get a space."

Great New Forest Stay.

"The hotel was lovely. It’s a really nice hotel, great location being in the centre of Lyndhurst but surprisingly ample parking too, behind the hotel. Staff were really helpful and attentive. Peter at the front desk and Danielle in the restaurant and bar stood out the most due to their friendliness and attentiveness. Our room was a little tired, could do with some general paint and decorating. Otherwise the bed was very comfortable, all very clean and a large room. Would definitely visit again."

Slept really well,

"The hotel staff are really nice very helpful my room was on the 3rd floor was like a maze to find it the room it self was clean and basic with tea/coffee. Room was a great size bathroom very small ( nothing the hotel can do about that ) the double bed was really nice good size nice warm bedding with great pillows. Black out curtains would be nice as the ones let in loads of light. Nothing bad, breakfast was good as well definitely worth the money before leaving. All in all very good I’ll be using again Hotel is a little dated yet for the price your paying to stay what more can you ask for "
