Top Hopesay Hotel Reviews

Cromwell's Tap House

10/10 Excellent

"Nice and clean room in historic building with modern bathroom (nice big shower). Well appointed, with bedside lights (one each side of the bed) and plenty of USB power sockets (A & C) both sides of the bed. Additional plug-in electric radiator provided, and tea/coffee/kettle with a couple of small packets of biscuits too. Very convenient for visiting Shrewsbury on foot, and not far from the railway station."

The Dragon Hotel

8/10 Good

"All staff were extremely helpful and friendly in all areas of the hotel. Unfortunately there was no working radiators on the top floor and the room was cold. There was a small electric fan heater in the room which we cleaned prior to as it it was covered in dust. My fault but I hadnt realised that there wasn't a proper shower in a room described as a premium. The kettle was dirty with coffee stains on the outside and generally appeared old. I wasn't happy to use it until I cleaned it. Food and drinks all excellent."

The Lion Hotel Shrewsbury

8/10 Good

"We stayed for one night. It was a little warm in the room, but we discovered a fan in the cupboard. Generally a comfortable stay in a good location to get to a show at Theatre Severn. Plenty of restaurants nearby too. Parking was an essential and at £5 per night was reasonable. We hear the hotel is changing hands soon. I hope the standards are kept high."

The Lowfield Inn

10/10 Excellent

"For us, just a one-night stay, but we arrived about 4pm on a Sunday afternoon, to find this is an extremely popular venue for Sunday lunches. The menu continued into the evening and we were able to see why it's so popular. A great meal, and then a lovely cooked breakfast the next morning. The room, facilities and bed were all comfortable and all in all, we had made a good choice in a quiet rural location."

The Burton Hotel and Cloud Nine

10/10 Excellent

"We’re walking the Herefordshire Trail and stayed here for one night. I was a good choice. A lovely welcome. We had a room which was clean and comfortable with plenty of room to walk around. Food in the evening was good, with a good menu choice. Breakfast was excellent a good menu to choose from. All the staff were great. We would stay again if in Kington"
