"Very nice place but not ideal for when the weather is hot, no fan and poor ventilation, so uncomfortable could not sleep prior to climbing Schafel Pike the next day. Otherwise food and service was excellent. Bathroom was newly renovated"

"Lovely place with good facilities, older property so our room was spacious, bed comfortable and good bathroom. A little noisy for the dog as we were on the ground floor next to reception. Limited parking outside the property but able to park across the road overnight until 10:00 am. Overall lovely stay."

"Perfect place for a getaway. We were warmly welcomed by the host who straight away recommended places to go for dinner. Our room was lovely with a beautiful view of the countryside. We had a full English cooked for us which was spot on as we departed to climb scafell. We definitely would stay at this hotel again when we next visit the lakes "

"We stayed in room 11 which was lovely, decorated well and had a very large bathroom with a free standing bath. Breakfast was great with a good choice. Lisa was extremely helpful and having the option to be taken and brought back from nearby restaurants was an added touch, as well as the electric charging points"
