A little disappointing
We booked a twin room but none available, but was given a suite for the last night. The first room had plumbing issues, could not control the hot water! and the shower fitting was broken. A noisey building site next door. Mouldy fruit in the room. Breakfast was not a buffet, the staff had never heard of cereal (cornflakes), only one dish allowed together with only one drink. This is strange as the minibar was refilled daily at no charge. We had to sit for breakfast overlooking the Saigon River which would have been great but for the rubbish. They should invest in a permanent barrier to stop this. We got the impression that they would cater more for their outside guests rather than residents.

Just beautiful
This is a stunning hotel in a beautiful location on the Saigon river with a river taxi to take you into The centre of the city. Sadly does not run after 7pm but taxis are inexpensive. The food is excellent and rooms beautiful, as is the pool. Our only downside, which is no fault of the hotel was noise from building work opposite. Staff, especially the reception staff incredibly helpful. I would definitely recommend for anyone seeking an exclusive, luxury stay away from the big hotels

Better options in Thao Dien than this
Do not stay here. Better options in Thao Dien now. Have put all our clients in this hotel for the better part of a year. We had paid 5.5 nights but had to reschedule which the hotel agreed to by giving us 4 nights. The hotel offered us to stay until December. When we tried to book in November, they have rescinded the free night saying it was good only until October. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else like the Mia Saigon which is 1/3 of the price with better views and service.

Fabulous stay. I was there for a week. Fabulous food ,service and location. But not suitable for someone with mobility issues or wheelchair user as there are many steps and some without hand rails. Great hotel and wonderful staff, Great free speedboat into HCMC.

Great boutique hotel along the river
Great boutique hotel with super staff. We really enjoyed our breakfast at the river and the water taxi to center. It’s located in the expat area with some nice restaurants at a 5-10 min drive. The city centre is a 20-40 min by cab.

This boutique hotel has it all. The river-side location is a great escape from the big city. It's helpful staff could not do enough to accommodate our every request. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. And above all, the cleanliness of our room and the pool and dining areas could not have been beaten. We enjoyed our three nights there so much, that we're already planning a return visit.

Great find
We stayed at Villa Saigon at the end of our travels. Was correct decision as we wanted to be near restaurants and landmarks but not right in the centre. There are plenty of nice restaurants and bars within walking distance and the speedboat into District 1 was amazing. Taxi back at night was around £4. The hotel is beautiful. Very clean and well maintained. The Sanctuary room was a good size and had everything we needed. The free mini bar was great. The pool area is lovely and relaxing. Breakfast is made to order and was delicious. The Hotel gave me a number of treats for my birthday which made our stay even more special. Would highly recommend this amazing hotel.

The location is excellent as downtown, tourist area of Saigon is chaotic and unpleasant. The Song's boat shuttle to central works perfect to get you into the action, but pleasantly and quickly bring you back to the sanctuary of Song. And the menu is very good and diversified and the food is outstanding! If shopping and nightlife is the purpose of the trip, Song is slightly remote. But if cultural experience and access to sites outside of Saigon are primary interest, this is the place to be.

A peaceful enclave!
We stayed as a couple for 3 nights. The room has a standard shower facility and is absolutely spotless. A firm and well supported mattress was a nice change to the usual soft mattresses of chain hotels. Breakfast was included and was an a-la carte format with a good choice of western and vietnamese cuisine. The hotel is located a fair distance from the city and the boat shuttle makes it really easy and fast to access the city center. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

Beautiful hotel with excellent care and attention from all staff. The hotel gave us an extra late checkout (6pm) as we had a late flight. This was greatly appreciated. Couldn’t have asked for more.

One of the best hotels we've ever stayed in.
Beautiful hotel with thoughtful service. It was one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in and we had such a good experience we are thinking of a return to Saigon to explore this district further and stay longer at Villa Song. We were going to try some different restaurants when we were there but had such a good experience the first night, we ate all our meals here. (We'd arrived five minutes before closing and they treated us so well--made sure the kids had everything they needed, etc.). The front desk seemed to look for every opportunity to do something a little extra for us. We could not have finished off our two week visit to Vietnam on a higher note. High, high recommend.

Away from the hustle and bustle
Even before we arrived the staff at the Villa Song made sure that our stay would flow smoothly by emailing information. We loved the ambience of this small boutique hotel, away from the hustle and bustle of district 1. Our room was large and overlooked the river. Special mention to Moon who was very welcoming and helpful on our arrival. Our spa experience was excellent.

A beautiful Villa on the river
We arrived early and were greeted warmly, offered a complimentary breakfast as we had arrived so early after a long flight from the UK. Checked in promptly and offered shower facilities whilst waiting for our room to be made ready. We were made to feel so welcome. Such a lovely experience. The staff were absolutely fantastic and l cannot speak highly enough of their professionalism and genuine care. We originally only booked in for 2 nights but extended to 3 with no problem. It was just such a lovely place that we decided to stay longer. Located in District 2 it is a calm oasis in the sea of madness that is Ho Chi Minh City. The Hotel operates a complimentary speed boat shuttle into District 1 which is divine and avoids the chaotic but vibrant traffic, which has to be seen to be believed! So many scooters and a traffic system that defies all logic to us here in the west, but it works! A gorgeous salt water pool, a divine choice of breakfasts and truly wonderful staff. Our room was sublime and overlooked the river, the bed divine, what more could anyone ask for. Thank you so much to all of the staff who made our stay a truly memorable experience for our first time in Viet Nam.

Beautifully decorated. Great breakfast. Nice touch to have the breakfast until 10pm and to have free items in the minibar. Also nice to have use of a speed boat into the main city center. I don't mind using the stairs, but it would be even better if the property had a lift :-)

Lovely, luxurious boutique hotel
Villa Song is a beautiful, smallish , luxury boutique hotel. Rooms are beautifully appointed, very clean, very comfortable. Located on the river, it's nice to sit and enjoy a meal watching the traffic passing on the river. The surrounding area is very removed from the bustle of the city, with a few good restaurants and bars, but not much street life. The river shuttle to the city is fantastic, but if you are wanting to go anywhere other than the local area, it is a taxi ride. There is no lift, so be aware if you are on the 2nd or 3rd floor, there are a lot of stairs. The pool area is great. The restaurant is good, great service and a tasty menu, but definitely not cheap. Staff cannot be faulted - very friendly and professional. A great place to wind down after a trip around Vietnam.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Beautiful bedrooms with fantastic amenities, including a complimentary minibar. The hotel is in a quiet setting and not within walking distance to other restaurants, shops or other facilities. It has a complimentary speedboat service to central Ho Chi Minh City, but the last transfer back to the hotel is at 7pm. The swimming pool is lovely and peaceful. The restaurant is very expensive and not up to the quality one would expect for the price and fantastic standard of the hotel generally. However, there are other good restaurants nearby, within a short taxi ride, but most of them are expensive by Vietnam standards. A taxi to district 1 would take around 20 minutes and cost around $7-10 each way.

Wonderful stay in elegant mansion
We arrived a little concerned about our luggage which had been lost at the airport but the manager at Villa Song was reassuring from the start saying it would turn up, and he was right as it turned up 12 hours later. In the meantime the staff were so helpful in many ways. Villa Song is beautiful and feels like a haven from the seething mass of people and scooters in Ho Chi Min. Loved our stay.

I loved staying here. The room was comfortable. The pool area was delightful. Breakfast alongside the river delicious and peaceful. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more caring. I stayed here for two nights then moved closer to the city center after my trip to the Mekong Delta. A nice balance!

Villa Song Saigon is a world class boutique Hotel
Although I would not be considered a world traveler I have stayed at multiple hotels throughout the world and believe Villa Song Saigon is truly a wonderful place for several reasons. The location is great because it is in District 2 which is close to many restaurants and hangouts that Westerners would appreciate. But also they have the courtesy boat that can easily get you into downtown Saigon. It is very quiet location so city noise is minimum. The quality of the rooms and hotel area is amazing. You will notice the attention to every detail and if you appreciate style Villa Song offers. The materials, artwork and furnishings are top tier. Additionally the Staff is incredibly gracious, attentative and friendly. It was a great experience and plan on coming back sometime in the future. Thank you Villa Song Saigon for a wonderful experience.

The hotel itself is a fabulous building with lots of nooks and crannies. The downside is that the bedrooms were a little on the small side. Still, it was fine for a long weekend and the staff were wonderful.
