When I checked in I was given a tiny room without a window. I was told that because I booked via Expedia, in essence they give those guests the bad rooms. I was able to upgrade to a nice room with a window for an additional $16 a day and it was worth it, but that was disappointing.
While the hotel is clean, there is an odd smell which permeates the entire building, even the elevator. The street is a fairly loud outside, but in fairness, there are not really "quiet" places in Ho Chi Minh City.
One major plus what the free breakfast buffet which was very lavish with Vietnamese and Western foods, even a omelette bar where the chef made truly proper French omelets.
