Awful service - Booked pre-COVID for a stay that didn’t end up happening due to strict travel restrictions in both the US and JP. Reached out to this hotel to ask for a cancellation despite their “no-cancellation” policy due to what was obviously an extreme, “act-of-God” type circumstance. Initially, the hotel representative I ended up getting in touch with was amenable to refunding my stay, but asked me to check if Expedia was willing to work with them to get me my refund. After numerous attempts to get in touch with Expedia (remember, this was peak COVID and everyone was trying to cancel and refund plans), I finally got them to agree to check in with the hotel’s management company. Expedia had trouble with the language barrier, but what they gathered was that Art Hotel was no longer willing to refund my fare and blamed Expedia for the issue, despite me having paper evidence that their representative agreed to the refund. Completely unwilling to work with me after that despite the situation. Avoid at all costs!
