They also have a book in the room that is a wealth of information about the area. It is available to buy and we advise to get a copy. We highly recommend cottages to anyone traveling to the area. "

Otherwise the grounds are beautiful and the attached restaurant has great staff with great food. Service is fast & food is delivered fast. The location is great for doing things on that side of the island. I would definitely stay there again. "

"The old Hilo Seaside Hotel on the corner of Kalanianaole Highway and Banyan Drive, across Reed's Bay prime location central to Hilo staples like Ken's and The Ponds Restaurants. The hotel itself consists of buildings with a central tropical courtyard or the swimming pool. Small gym, bikes to borrow, a mediation and common area. The room was clean and cozy. Much effort made in reducing carbon footprint by having the ability to open windows instead of only air conditioning."
