We stayed at the Lodge for 5 nights and everything was perfect. It's a great location for sites in southwest SD too. The room was clean, comfortable and Cary was very helpful. Comfortable bed and soft towels! We'd recommend to anyone to stay there.

Melissa and Cary were wonderful hosts and we throughly enjoyed our stay at their Mountain View Lodge. We stayed in a cabin with a porch, grill and fire pit. The cabin was clean, comfortable bed and location was convenient to all the highlights in South Dakota. Would highly recommended.

The rooms were excellent. This is located close to the sites you want. Very quiet at night- best nights of sleep I’ve had in years—- that says something coming from an insomniac! Owners are sweet and helpful! I wouls stay again.

This family run lodge was the perfect base camp for seeing everything we wanted to see. They have space to park your trailer if you need to. Cary and his wife Melissa, the owners, were so nice

Excellent location close to everything we wanted to do, and the owners were great. The room was clean but very small, and the shower was the size of a camper shower. The deck was nice with a fire table and plenty of seating, but having rooms right off the deck area made us feel we couldn’t stay out there very late as we didn’t want to bother anyone. Overall the place was great though and I would stay there again.

We are so happy that we booked our stay in the Black Hills at Mountain View Lodge and Cabins. The owners are very hospitable and really make you feel at home personally and with the amenities they offer. The hotel is centrally located for many of the attractions. The grill was great to use and have a homemade meal after being on the road for a week. If we make it back to this area we will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at this lodge! It was absolutely adorable, exceptionally clean, and incredibly comfortable. From the moment we arrived, the owners made us feel right at home with their warm hospitality and welcoming nature. They went above and beyond by sharing great recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and things to do in the area, which made our trip even more enjoyable. One of the nicest surprises was the fresh coffee and delicious donuts each morning—a thoughtful touch that was so appreciated and started our days perfectly. If you’re looking for a cozy, spotless place to stay with outstanding hosts who truly care about their guests, we highly recommend this lodge. We would happily stay here again!

I really like the location of the property, down the street from Hill city so a little bit out of the congestion. We felt very safe and never had to worry about parking. Nice patio area to hang out on or even cook on the grill. Rooms were basic but very clean and comfy beds. Owners were very sweet and helpful with questions. Light breakfast was perfect, fresh and enough to get you going. Also, a little family run ice creme/ burgers type place across to street that you can walk to. Great location to hit all the spots in your list.

Wonderful, welcoming lodge owners. Very comfortable, and nicely decorated room. Great location for visiting Black Hills, Custer State Park, and all the best sights. The owners helped us with directions and restaurants. A bit of road noise, but the conversations made you forget it. They are improving the lodge & cabins every year.

The owners are very friendly and helpful. It was like staying with old friends. Don't be put off by the proximity to the road: it was very quiet at night and we slept like babies.
