Hotel Dekat Athenry Heritage Center

"We booked for one night, and were looking forward to using the spa facilities. When we arrived, we were told that they were shut for refurbishment. Apparently, this work has been going on for some time. I was told an email had been sent out. I did not receive any email. The hotel has a duty to let people know such things, so they have a choice of changing their plans. I noticed a lot of unhappy people that weekend. They are not afraid to charge top prices, and yet offer very little in return."

"The room was small but workable. The door is an old fashioned key from both sides type with no other means to lock the door from the inside. The first bath towel I got literally fell apart but the 2nd one was the softest I’ve ever had at a hotel. Restaurant was good and they poured a good pint. The walls are quite thin so it’s a little noisy. "

"We only stayed for one night, but what a great experience. The hosts, Ann and Michael were wonderful. They waited for us (we checked in late), gave us good suggestions for a quick dinner in town. We decided to have breakfast with them the next day and that was soooo worth it. Amazing spread and choices of food. I would highly highly recommend this place to anyone."

"This is a modern hotel which looks good from the outside, but we found it seriously lacking in a number of areas. First, we stayed for three days, but our room was never cleaned at all. I thought it was an oversight after the first night, but the second night the housekeeping staff was again a "no show." We told the front desk, and of course they profusely apologized. "The property was clean and well maintained with a modern look. The room had an efficient layout and the beds were comfortable. There was also a decent amount of water pressure and there was ample parking. Two minor issues were the shower design seems odd as water gets all over the floor and it was hard to hear the front desk staff on the phone."

"Breakfast was okay, nothing to brag about. Rooms do not have AC and we were there the hottest week in history for May. Staff provided fans which helped."

"The G was a lovely hotel and spa. Easy check-inand the employees at the front desk were great, very helpful. Love the flavored waters offered in the lobby. The thermal suite was a welcome treat after a long day. The rooms were a clean good size and the bathroom also was great. Loved the towel warmer and the soaps. It is a quick drive or taxi ride into Galway City Centre. Breakfast was very good lots of options and fresh Would highly recommend"
