This property is appropriate for the price. We got everything we need. A convenient walk to Sello shopping area for food. Much improvements in the kitchen utensils area compare to when we first started staying here.

Simple but clean hotel with nice staff
We needed place to stay overnight to take early morning ferry from Helsinki and this hotel served the purpose perfectly. We were travelling with a small dog and it was no problem to stay in this hotel (of course I checked if pets are allowed before I booked it; there is additional charge of €10, which I was also aware of at the time of booking). There is also free outdoor parking place next to the hotel (maybe not everyone can park there if hotel is fully booked but when we stayed there it was plenty of free slots). The hotel is rather simple but clean and room was equipped with all that is needed to prepare simple meal, make tea/coffee, dishes, etc. Located just 15-20 minutes drive from the center of Helsinki. We were laving before breakfast starts and the receptionist booked take away breakfast box for us. We also got coffee as we were leaving. Very nice indeed! As I had to walk a dog I can also say that there is nice surrounding for the walk just next to the hotel. All-in-all good hotel which served its purpose.

Positives: Rooms were simple, clean, and comfortable. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Common spaces were clean and quiet. The location was quiet but convenient to shopping, restaurants, and transit. Excellent full breakfast. Negatives: A distinct and powerful smell of mold in our bathroom, localized to the sink drain and the soap dispenser.

The reception staff Jaana was very polite and helpful but in 4 days none of the days room cleaned at all by housekeeping staff .... it’s a pity no cleaning in room for 3 nights stay ..... the best was breakfast which was tasty and sauna where you can relax individual with your family no outside people same time ......relax and enjoy your time

The property was clean and well maintained. Blankets were warm and breakfast was filling. Location isn’t great for reaching the city if you don’t have a car.

Great value and location
The wifi was on and off, and this seriously hampered some work I was trying to complete. Apart from that, the room was clean. The location is convenient if a shopping mall is what you're into. I myself was satisfied overall.

Good for a Business Stay
I've stayed in one of the other Hesten's before on business so was happy to book this one in Espoo when I needed to be in the area. Accommodation is clean and functional. Indeed it's pretty similar to student halls of residence. My single room had a fully functioning kitchen which was impressive together with a small table, dining chair and easy-chair. Front of house was good with excellent English. Breakfast is served downstairs and the buffet is pretty good in terms of choice but don't expect a gourmet offering. overall it's simple and does the job for a business stay. The only thing I'd like to see improved is the bed. By the end of my second night, I found it hard and uncomfortable with a very thin mattress.

Good hotel in quiet location
Convenient apart hotel in Espoo. Not a lot to do in the area but there is a good leisure centre nearby and wonderful woods. Staff weee great, would definitely use again

Choose wisely
Chose this hotel from Australia. Didn't choose carefully enough. The 10 minute walk from the station is actually a 15-20 minute uphill walk. It is also a bit complicated to find. I was pleased it was raining when we arrived so we caught a taxi, otherwise we would have walked and that would not have been easy with luggage. Also the hotel is 20 minutes by train from the main station in Helsinki. Free wi-fi is useless, only really accessible from downstairs near reception. Staff acted surprised when I asked about it but I think it was not really news to them. Breakfast was OK. My suggestion is to spend a little more and stay closer to Helsinki.

DON'T EXPECT TOO MUCH.
THANK GOODNESS IT WAS RAINING WHEN WE ARRIVED BECAUSE BY TAKING A TAXI WE AVOIDED THE 15 MINUTE UPHILL WALK WITH OUR BAGS FROM THE STATION. WE SPENT MOST OF OUR TIME EXPLORING HELSINKI SO SPENT VERY LITTLE TIME ACTUALLY IN THE HOTEL WHICH WAS FOR THE BEST.

Very good hotel for the money.
Very good hotel for value. 15 minute walk to train where there is also a large shopping mall. 15 minutes on the train to downtown Helsinki. The hotel was clean and had a nice breakfast included. You really cant go wrong for the dollar (euro). Its a bit out of the way, but the train into town is easy and convenient. Highly recommended.

Nice hotel in a great location
We really enjoyed staying here. The room was spacious and well equipped. We loved the fact that the local area was so quite and peaceful. The staff were very helpful and always available. It's about 10 minutes from the train station but a very easy commute into Helsinki. The only downside was that the night we arrived (about 10.30 pm) we were unable to find any food in the area so if you are checking in late I recommend that you take something with you. The buffet breakfast was good. We will definitely use again, really good value

After walking from a bus stop (about 1/2 mile) pulling our suitcases, not knowing just where the hotel was located, we found a father walking with his children. Asked the man if he knew where the Hellsten Hotel was located, he said "follow me", I'm going there.The room was ready for four persons as reserved. Very comfortable. Would recomend this hotel to anyone.

Convenient cheap stay
Very good value for money, especially considering breakfast was included. We chose the hotel as we wanted somewhere for 3 adults that wasn't too expensive and would be convenient for the airport and sightseeing. Also we didn't want to have to drive in to Helsinki and it was good to have free parking. We had a one bedroom apartment which had its own sauna and plenty of space for all of us. The location is convenient for getting in to Helsinki by train, and was also handy for Nuuksio National Park and Seurassari Outdoor museum. The breakfast was OK, not great but good enough. Cooking facilities in the apartment were fairly limited but we were able to buy food at a local supermarket and prepare a simple evening meal, which helped keep costs down. The reception staff were very helpful and spoke good English. I'd recommend for a cheap stay near Helsinki.
