Hotels near Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument

"Silver Surf Motel was okay for a short stay, but a bit underwhelming overall. My room appeared to have been recently renovated, and the décor and finishes were tasteful. I was disappointed, however, that the room did not have a tub. The mattress was also softer than I prefer, and I woke up with a minor backache. The property itself could really use some updating. Outside areas looked neglected and dated, and the walls were paper-thin — I could easily hear noise from neighboring rooms and people walking along the catwalk. Being near the water is definitely a plus, but unfortunately, it didn’t fully make up for the property’s shortcomings."

"We throughly enjoyed our trip to San Simeon. Loved the Ocean view room (totally worth it) and the restaurant as well as access to Hearst Castle. Everything was comfortable and the amenities - great room layout, great breakfast and dinner!!"

"The hotel is nice friendly staff. Dinning was great had dinner abs breakfast. The rooms are ok need a bit of renovation. Beach are has beautiful colored small rocks."

"We really liked how close it is to the ocean - we could walk across the street and then down to the boardwalk that follows the shoreline. The restaurant next door was handy and food there was excellent. Our room was on the first floor facing the ocean -- we enjoyed the patio. Things were clean and in order and it felt private."

"Nice room and location was across the beach with a partial view of the beach. We wish the ceiling fan worked since the room was stuffy without the window open."

"This place is in a great location with nice, clean rooms. Staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, we stayed there one night. The TV would not work and staff said they had a cable crew out earlier who said they fixed a problem, but it obviously wasn’t fixed. The phone also would not work. The next day we woke up and there was no hot water for the entire morning until checkout. They said their hot water heater went out and a plumber was on the way. So, we hope these issues are resolved and then it would be quite nice. But the lack of hot water for a shower this morning was a real bummer."
