Very good service, (the only problem I had throughout the whole trip, was at immigration. They wouldn't let me go, even though they knew that the purpose of my trip was mainly leisure. They were very suspicious, which was a little bit irritating and offensive.) Nevertheless, I ended up having a very good time because of the good service provided.

Be Careful When You Book two room
I did the booking for my family and a friend (Couple). Our room (1303) was excellent in every respect. We had a large bed for each of us. Room airy neat and clean The couples room (704) was just so terrible. Just a small bed with a dirty toilet, non functional lights and aircon. There was no corrective action on the first night and when staff was brought to the room on day/night they swapped lights within the room. Then we did an overnight trip and returned back for our last day and no one would listen. We both paid the same amount and our booking was very clear but were really disappointed. It put my family in a very embarrassing position. We are extremely disappointed and have taken plenty of photos to support that this was an absolute rip off and we were cheated and want a return for that room. Hence the poor reviews - this service is deception and people must be made aware. This is our first bad experience with Hotel.com

The location is the best thing about this hotel. It is currently under construction and we were not made aware of this prior to booking. We were disturbed from 8am with drilling and noises. You couldn’t relax/have a nap. Water was luke warm at best. House keeper came into our room twice while we were in there, knocking while entering. Room not clean at all. We stayed in some lovely casas during our 2 weeks in Cuba and they were all clean. Our feet were dirty walking from the shower to bedroom (2 metres). Room hadn't been cleaned, dirty and grime in bathroom.

This hotel located near the sea, in the centre. It is very comfortable. Also, you can check out later (till 6 pm) paid 10 CUC. In one word, the impression is good.

Adequate hotel in a good location
It was unfortunate that our stay covered some refurbishment so the hotel did not look its best. The key had been lost to the safety deposit box in our room so our valuables could not be kept safe. The rooms are very tired and seriously in need of refurb. There was only one lift working which was being utilised by guests/maids/builders so took for ever and at one time broke down completely. There was no hot water for the 1st 2 days. On the plus side the view from our room (808) towards the Nacional was good. The included breakfast was good. The windows did not fit very well so there was a lot of street noise. This is an adequate and clean hotel in a great location with the added bonus of having a pool (be warned there is no shade around the pool). By Cuban standards it is a good hotel and I'm sure that once they have finished the refurb (as long as they do the guest rooms as well as the public areas) it will lift it back in to the 'go to' hotels but at the moment everything is a little chaotic. I would stay there again

Terrible Check in Experience. Room was TERRIBLE. Water leaking everywhere in the bathroom. light in the bathroom did not work so I had to shower in the dark the first time. shower head was falling off of the wall and you cannot turn the water all of the way on or the shower head will fall off. was not expecting much from this hotel but was not expecting it to be this bad.

I made a non refundable reservation and paid online with my credit card. Upon arrival to the hotel, I was told my reservation was not there. I was not able to have a room. Front desk employee was very rude, and did not care in the least. She was not willing to accept my reservation email confimation. So, my boyfriend and I did not stay. I lost my money. The hotel condition itself is very frightening. I would never bring a child to the establishment. Hallways were dark, not lit, and dirty. The rooms and public area were nothing like the advertised photos. You could not pay me to stay here, I fact- I PAID TO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The hotel was being renovated and the electricity went out while I was there. The curtains, sheets, towels were discolored and falling apart. The balcony door didn’t open and the window lock was broken. The hotel didn’t have air conditioning in the lobby and the hallways and the elevator. Toilet paper given once a day. No tissues and no pen and paper to write with. No internet service. Very unsatisfying

Not a good hotel. Nothing works (elevator, weak internet, etc.) Some staff (like house keepers) work hard, other don’t do anything. Pool invaded by loud locals. Breakfast was sometime good, sometime poor with lots of fly. Havana is not a place I will come back.

Moved in the Deauville after leaving a terrible hotel. Deauville was better: real breakfast (except when the coffee machine broke down), but the rest not so good as nothing really worked. Air conditioning was only on/off (no temperature adjustment), TV remote was broken, water leak on the corridor, 1 broken elevator, the other was very slow and often could not remember all floor requests (so going back down to lobby instead of deserving the top floor), so I end up using the stairs (even with my luggages). Most staff don’t really care. All hotels are owned by the government, so whether they work or not doesn’t make a difference. One particular staff, keep saying later to all requests such as check my extended reservation, extend my door card, even said there was no more local money to change currency (obviously not to work and waiting for the next employee to start her shift and do the work). Pool was monopolized by the locals (bringing their own drink and screaming from one side to the other), don’t expect to relax there. Internet ($1/hour) at the bar was working early morning (06.00-07.00), but not too well after. Ultimate disappointment: even the Mojito was the worst I ever had… alcohol taste like gasoline.

Hotel is under renovation how ever they still taking reservation. Only one elevator is working and is for every body, trash, construction, housekeeping, etc. The odor is terrible in the floors, I asked to change room because the paint odor was to bad. They gave me another room that was a little better but nothing good, no phones in the rooms, towels has a grey color probably for the age, as long as sheet. Floor was dirty like non body mop it.

The property is literally near the main square and is a stone throw away from many important sites in the city. This helps as the taxi drivers will fleece you to go anywhere. The place is ok for short stays. Definitely not somewhere you want to take a young family for vacation but older independent back-packers and families will find it suitable. The staff are generally friendly but a few are exceptionally so. The property is safe and has a club. The rooms where ok for a budget property. The pool was ok to lounge about and take a dip but closes early ( 6pm). Internet connection is sparse and the food was poor. Otherwise, if you have a room on a top floor, the view of the city is breathtaking. The Malecon promenade is a few steps away from the hotel. People are always out there hanging out and socializing. The Malecon allows for an 8 mile walk something i enjoyed all hours of the night ( Cuba is ridiculously safe). Overall the property was a good cost for money. The food was so-so and i did not trust eating anything there except for fried eggs and a few other items ( some people enjoyed the dishes though)

Location good. Pool would be good if they didn't allow locals in who get drunk, play loud music and throw beer cans and smoke in the pool. Breakfast was a major problem- too many not residents so sometimes we had to wait upto 20 minutes to be seated and could not even sit together as a family.

The hotel is located in a good area where everything is around. The room is outdated and as soon as you walk in the room it has a moldy smell. Mold was found in the bathroom and bed sheets did not look clean. The bathroom had hot water and basic necessities. The hotel is shared with locals of the area and the pool could get very noise at times. You are able to exchange money at reception but would suggest doing at airport. You can also get tours right from the hotel with pick up available. Also at reception you can get wifi cards since the hotel does not offer any free wifi.

Its ok the location is great but service and cleanliness needs improvement they don’t change the towels for 3 days also the bed sheets towels smells bad and the shower and sink was clogged but the maintenance came really fast . Buffet was ok and they were fast

Just keep telling yourself - we're in Cuba!
You have to keep reminding yourself you're in Cuba which, in may respects, seems 40 years behind the most advanced parts of the world. We used four rooms in total. The rooms were relatively spacious, clean and had functioning air conditioning. TVs were located in strange areas and so couldn't be viewed from your bed. Views were quite spectacular. However, we would have preferred it if the cleaning staff didn't barge into the room at 9.00 am every morning - do not disturb notices were at a premium. WiFi was intermittent and only available in certain areas (lobby and pool). Money exchange service was unavailable when we needed it - apparently they had run out of change. Plenty of choice at breakfast but the service was the most unhygienic we'd seen in many years. Many of the staff were simply lazy and were clearly doing the absolute minimum they could get away with. The live music at breakfast was too loud. A very average hotel by western standards.
