"Can’t begin to describe what a great stay this is. A real experience, if you are doing the battlefields, then staying or visiting here is a must. Comfy beds, great facilities and good breakfast. Loft chapel is probably the nicest chapel or church I have ever seen mainly because of the emotion involved. Thoroughly recommend. "

"Les hôtes sont d'une exceptionnelle courtoisie! Ils nous ont fait des recommandations touristiques qui ont changé nos plans pour le mieux! De plus, leur petit déjeuner personnalisé est varié, copieux, et vraiment, vraiment délicieux. Mention spéciale pour les fruits qui étaient parfaits et le jus d'orange fraichement pressé qui est simplement le meilleur que nous avons pu boire. Et je n'arrive toujours pas à comprendre comment ils peuvent faire un café aussi savoureux mais j'adorerais connaître...

"Great stopover before early morning Eurotunnel. Gilles was a perfect host with excellent communication, wonderful breakfast with lovely apple juice made from the apples grown in the wonderful gardens. Comfy bed, nice shower with a kettle on the room, all you need for an overnight stop. The house and gardens were stunning."

"We wish we had discovered this place years ago as we have been making this trip 2 or 3 times a year using a hotel near Lille. This charming house is so much better and the welcome from the charming Marie-Odile was lovely. So much care has gone into the preparation of the accommodation and the breakfast, largely using home-grown items, was exceptional. I am sure we shall find a reason to come here again."

"Kind welcome by Aurelia and her husband . The room was lovely and had everything that we needed for our night stay . The breakfast was special , so much of it and plenty of choice . Many thanks , I’m only sorry that I didn’t have time to look in the little boutique shop again . "

"A unique property. Lovely welcome. Delicious breakfast. Parking outside the front of the house was super easy. "

"Everything was perfect! David was a very welcoming host, even though we arrived after 9pm. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and spacious and very clean with bottled water and amenities. David laid on the nicest breakfast of warm croissants, warm bread, cheeses, jams, yoghurt and honey, and also supplied is plenty of milk and cocoa for hot chocolate. The cats and dogs at the property are adorable and all in all, it was a very relaxed overnight stay. Merci, David et Cecile."

"Our hostess, Sophie has been excellent with local places of interest including some local restaurants. Our “villa” was very comfortable and fresh with a queen sized bed. Our stay was made very enjoyable, even the local patisserie/boulangerie were welcoming. We even bought some of Sophie’s porcelain "

"2ème séjour à la Détente de la Lys, découverte d'une nouvelle chambre tout aussi confortable et agréable. Et le jacuzzi haut de gamme à nouveau est un vrai plus. Nous reviendrons !"
