Farmstay in Hato Mayor

"Stayed at Bahia Principle- Bourganville April-16-23. Went with my wife, the resort is adults only. We had an excellent time, room was clean a little dated, AC worked well. toilet was acting up, it wasnt a big deal, bed was firm, we were in building 54..1st floor. no view, but we were never in the room. It was a central loction halway between the quiet pool and the fun pool and right next to the buffet resturant. Quiet pool was nice, and the resort crew at the pool were excellent led by Marceleys, she was great. They played games, and led activities like water aerobics. swim up bars in both pools was key, or wait for the waitress (Naraleis) was ours. We did swim over also, frozen margaritas, pina coladas..and mohito's were popular. I tipped them to keep them coming back, they were nice and went the extra mile to make you happy. The food makes my overall rating to dip to 4.5 star Disappointed with Rodizo steakhouse, staff was fine but steak wasnt cooked correctly, rice was served cold..not even warm, cold, anyway, Italian resturant was un-impressive also. French resturant Don Pablo (ronny fernando)was good , the beef tenderloin was soft and cooked correctly. The buffet in our opinion was the best place to eat. Dinner had something good for everyone, fish, roast beef, roasted Pig, ham, chicken, pasta bar, fruits, fresh..veggies..taco night , Paella, very good. Temps went as high as 90, and as low as 70, rained a couple nights no big deal. Sun was always out in Am. would go back"

"Overall I will not be coming back to this resort, also not sure if I would recommend it. The staff was friendly for the most part. The food was probably my favorite part about it. The decor was nice, the beach was beautiful. But it was very small, not much to do, no swim up bar, only one pool for everyone, very little liquor choice, especially if you’re not a VIP. In our room, the floor felt dirty, and the swim up pool in the back was dirty, I had asked for them to clean it and it was not cleaned, so we never used it. My fiancé had also paid for the room to be decorated for my birthday, along with a beachside dinner. We had to tell them to decorate the room and we were never told about the beachside dinner at all, never mentioned it once. We ended up paying for an excursion and during the excursion, which was horse ride to the Salto de Limon, we knew the locals who helped out with the horses were plotting to rob my fiance. They were talking in Spanish not knowing we were very well aware of that Spanish dialect. Luckily by the grace of God we ended up avoiding it, stayed close to the Tour Guide. But when riding the horses the tour guide doesn’t join, so we were in the middle of the trail alone with these people who are only volunteers. Multiple of them were involved in the plotting. I hope this excursion is more aware of who they let volunteer We addressed this with the resort, but I don’t feel like they did enough to help us out with the scares and the inconveniences."

"my husband and I went for a parent only trip and we absolutely loved the resort, it was very clean and everyone was super helpful and attentive to our needs. we stayed for 4 days and we wished we could have stayed longer. Wish there was more bar tenders by the pool as at times you waited a bit for your drinks but with the amazing views of the beach from the bar I don't thik anyone really noticed! we would definitely choose to stay here again it forced you to stop and just take in the beauty of this beautiful country!"
