Værelset var rigtig fint og rent. Sengene var dog ret hårde. Placeringen af hostellet var god og meget centralt. Personalet var rigtig søde og meget behjælpelige. Alt i alt en god oplevelse.
Aircon wasn't strong and bedside fan wasn't working. When I checked out, I had to remind the staff to return me my passport.

Guests need to give 100,000 VND deposit for the key, and no beer to be taken to rooms because it will attract roaches – I assume same for food (this is puzzling as the private room we stayed in had a refrigerator – for only water apparently). As for the room, the bathroom/shower/bathtub in the double room we stayed in had several issues: the grout needing a good cleaning, the stopper in the tub was not functional (would not go up/down and good thing I had a tool to pry it up and out so the water could drain), the ceiling over the tub was slanted so anyone with moderate height needs to keep their head bent over while showering, and the shower head is pointed horizontally out from the wall and with the low water pressure we could hardly rinse off – thus a shower was nearly impossible. The taxi driver the hostel had arranged to take us to the airport tried to extort an extra 50,000 VND from us for 'entry' into the airport. On a good note, the sheets and towels were clean.
Stayed in the mixed dorm which had lockers, clean bedding, lamps and power points each. Friendly staff and free beer. Cool area of town with tonnes of restaurants and bars on the street. Bathroom could have been slightly cleaner but not the worst
The Sanctuary is a family run hotel/hostel. Its conveniently located in proximity to the old quarter, therefore most the sites are within walking distance. The owner is very friendly, helpful, and speaks very good English. Rooms were slightly on the small side, but that was not an issue at all. The Sanctuary generously provided guests with some beer for happy hour. All in all a great stay and would recommend it to other travelers.
