I really enjoyed this property. My room was very comfortable and super stylish. There was nothing cookie-cutter about it. It felt like the room had been designed and decorated individually by someone of the highest taste and ability. There were lots of individual surprising touches, as well as plenty of attention on comfort and function. The area is quiet but near many things, including the philharmonic hall and the miniature museum -- both highly recommended. The hotel is pretty new, I think, so not all the dining options were in place, but it didn't matter. It's a stay I'll longer remember and one of my favorite ever.

A wonderful and unique place. I could only sing praises if there wasn‘t the subject of a credit owed but not refunded yet. I was given 2 adjacent suites which as a single traveler I did not need. So I requested a cancellation of one of the suites for the 2nd night which was agreed upon. However when checking out I was billed the full amount with the assurance(it was a Sunday) that the credit would be issued by accounting on Monday. I am still waiting. Sadly this clouded an otherwise wonderful experience.

A delightful boutique hotel right on one of Hamburg's famous canals. Close to HafenCity and the Elbphilharmonie and an easy 10 minute walk to Inner Alster . A young staff but they were excellent and ready to help make the stay great!

This hotel is the perfect mix of vintage charm and modern amenities. Between the stylish furniture and decor, excellent breakfast, and a very high level of cleanliness, my husband and I had no complaints. We felt that this was comparable, if not nicer, than 5-star hotels we have stayed in. Other Americans, you know what I mean when I say that most German hotels feel very different, but the Sir Nikolai Hotel clearly caters to Americans and I felt right at home :)

Great hotel but service to be improved
The hotel is well presented and very nice. The room is lovely but there were a few omissions... no mini bar price list, its expensive so beware, no replacement tea or coffee - we had to go to reception ourselves for this as the phone didn't work to call. Could almost be 10/10 with a little improvement on servicing of the room.

Best location
Amazing hotel. Everything was top notch, from service staff to amenities offered. I also loved the centrality of the location, which allowed me to walk everywhere. Only con was the breakfast. It was very disappointing, the coffee tasted aweful! Everything else was fantastic, so I hope they improve on their breakfast.

Welcoming, helpful staff, comfortable stay
We dealt with 3 different reception staff and they were all very helpful and made us feel welcome. The room was so impressive that we enquired about upgrading to a better room. We were able to do this after the first night. It was worth the move, the bath tub extremely spacious and the room much bigger overall. Location is great for the Elbphilharmonie, about a 10 minute walk, and for city shopping and restaurants, also a few minutes away. We would stay here again when returning to Hamburg.

Amazing stay
Such a great place! My parents and I utterly enjoyed our stay at Sir Nikolai. Amazing decor, amazing service. I would not recommend the restaurant downstairs. Completely overpriced for very low-quality food. Try and visit VLET in the Speicherstadft which is 6min walk away. Overall, a super thoughtful hotel with loads of attention to detail. I would recommend.

Loved this hotel. It is cool. It is clean. It is modern. It is a bit luxurious as well. It has a great location, wallowing distance form the shopping street, form HafenCity, from the Christmas Market, etc, really, great location. Staff is super friendly. I just have 1 “but” .... I left behind a piece of makeup (a kit of eyeshadows) and I called to asked and come pick them up, but they never found them.

Super nice staff, great welcome with Prosecco, sightseeing tips and options to upgrade the room. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, tv with airdrop and fantastic bathroom. The attached restaurant serves super delicious food. All was perfect and we will definitely go back, but... maybe in the mornings there could be some extra staff. Check out took forever, since the only staff member had to work like crazy, checking out a whole line of people, make cappuccinos and label luggage... fortunately we were not in a rush.
