It was quiet when I visited but there are a few restaurants/dining options a short distance from the property. There's also a lot of historical information around the town if you have time.

"A beautiful, rural retreat. Wonderful facilities, extremely clean and homely. "This was such a cute little apartment. It is attached to the Milecastle Pub, which has very delicious food. A portion of Hadrian’s Wall is within walking distance. I would definitely recommend."

The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside. The Manor House Inn on the high road served some lovely food and excellent real ale. I really don't know why the Romans ever left !!
