Great economy stay
Loved the location - right across from fish markets which is what we wanted. Nice Firm mattress on which I slept great, small room and step up Japanese Toto bathroom. Would stay again..,spend your money on food as Hakadate has the best seafood I ever had and I live in the ocean!

Very old facilities. Not recommended
Very old building and facilities. Room was very dated, very small and had an old, very dated apartment feel. My wife could not 'relax' due to the room. We asked the front desk whether there were any other rooms available but were told no, although the website still showed rooms as being available. We eventually left and checked into another hotel down the street. We were very disappointed in New Ohte and would not recommend.

Clean, but bed was hard and pillow very flat. Quite a good price, right opposite the morning market. Room service is provided, however you need to request it on your door. Which is fine, but we followed the instructions only to find out when we were back that they didn't do it! They just left a bag with new towels on the door and left a note that we hadn't requested it (they flipped the door sign to do not disturb) I wasn't too fussed about it as I only required towels but it did leave a bad taste

The place was amazing. The location is absolutely great, takes only 1-2 min walk from Hakodate Station. The hotel is center to iconic places such as Red Brick Warehouse which only takes 10 mins to walk. Many convenience stores nearby. The hotel allows both bag drop before check in and even after check out while you wait for your next train. The rooms smallness matches the picture. However it has all the necessities you need. Overall an absolute must stay for budget families/friends who want to experience Hakodate without ripping their wallets at hotels.

Hotel is a bit old, but good location, just opposite to the market. Very convenient for eating and shopping. Also, it is quite near to the JR station, bus station. In front of the hotel, and at the back street of it, there are bus stops to and from Mount Hakodate, the famous place for night view. Hotel check out time is 10am, quite a bit early. Hotel has parking facility, but I’m nit driving.

Restaurant is closed on Tuesday, but you can have any meals at market less than 2 min walk from 6:30am. 5min walk from Hakodate station. There is nice jogging or walking spot cross over bridge 3 miles round trip with nice water views and Mountains which 100 m to start from Hotel.

Hotel New Ohte is just a couple of minutes from JR Hakodate station and is very walkable, the morning market is right across the street. It was snowing every day and the location was ideal, the hotel met our needs it's not a fancy place but more then sufficient for us.

Very strategic location
Very nice & helpful staff. Strategic location, train station just 3min walk. Morning market right opposite the hotel. Tram station 5min walk. Will definitely stay here again.

Holiday in Hakodate
The hotel is very close to the JR station，about 4 min walk. My family , four of us, stayed in the hotel for a night. The room was clean and we had no complaints with the stay.

- very very very conveniently located near the JR stn - our room was facing the morning market (but it was a little noisy ard 4am onwards, you could hear sounds of trolleys and vehicles doors opening & closing, due to the market preparing for opening) - spacious room - very friendly staff!

Nice hotel & near JR Hakodate station
The hotel is very close to JR Hakodate Station, and it is opposite to Hakodate Motning Market. Also, it is just 5 mins walk to Tram station. Moreover, the staffs are nice and friendly. Although the room is a bit old, it is quite clean.

The location is good, very near to JR station and opposite to the morning market. The counter staff was very helpful especially I enquired about taking a bus to Mt Hakodate. Though the room was a little small for triple-sharing but still comfortable.

Very small room located in a strategic location!
The room for two adults is actually very small. Bed size only slightly bigger than super-single. Other than that, it was okay. Location was superb! Morning market is just directly opposite. JR also within walking distance. Hotel also very near to local eateries and tram station (Hakodate-Ekimae stn)

Great Location!
Hotel New Ohte is a 2 minute walk from the JR rail station in Hakodate. The hotel staff's limited English was ok as they were friendly and accommodating to explain things. The quadruple room was spacious, spotless clean and provided amenities such as a hair dryer, tea to drink and a tv. Across the street was the Morning (Seafood) Market (great eats and local color) and down the road were numerous shopping and eating opportunities. Other sights to see in Hakodate were within walking distances or accessible by bus or trolley. Great place to stay!

It is worth to reserve time to time when you are going to hakodate. It is cheap in price but clean and close to JR hakodate station and market about 3 minutes on foot.

Next to hakodate morning market
Next to hakodate market. Hotel room is small but still value for money. Food at hakodate market not exactly cheap but okay to experience and have some seafood. If you are going for squid fishing, do go early as they have limited squid available.

Really love this hotel . Pls do not judge by the picture . It have a 'old' Japan feel about the hotel . The room is comfy for us ( Me ,Wife and 11 yrs old Daughter ) Toilet is superbly clean and new . Location wise is very good , opp morning mkt . Value for money .

No frills budget hotel
An absolutely no frills budget hotel. Excellent location - directly opposite the Hakodate Morning Market and couple of minutes walk to the JR Hakodate Station. The property is very run down, the beddings are old and I get backache after just a night's sleep. The room has only heating facility and no air-conditioning. Attached bathroom is also very small. However, I have to mention that the counter staff are efficient and extremely polite.

Dated Hotel need major refurbishment
Good location near Hakodate station. Old dated building, when entering the hotel, place has very strong smells of mold. Fortunetaely, our room (triple) was a renovated room, reasonably clean and quite spacious. Bathroom is standard small size as in most Japan older hotels.

Great location, nice room.
The room is really nice and spacious compared to the price and the location is great (5 mins walk from JR and opposite to the fish market) although the hotel itself and the lobby looks old and smell stinky. The check out time is really early (10 am). I would recommend the one who just want an overnight stay.
