Average hotel. Nothing good nor bad stood out to me, but the exceptionally friendly attendant at the front desk. Not really worth the price we paid, but nothing is in Switzerland.

Christmas in Grindelwald
We stayed for 6 nights over Christmas 2023, we were looking for hotel located close to the center and this was perfect, a few minutes walk to center and convenient for restaurants the train and bus station. Super clean, friendly and great value. Great views and a great buffet breakfast.

Everything was perfect; 3 minutes by foot to Grindelwald train station and after running around all day it’s nice to have a decent rest at this tranquil inn. This family run establishment is truly a gem in this wonderful town

The hotel is near the train station which was convenient for getting around to other areas. There was a little bit of a steep hill to get up to the hotel but it was only about 100 yards. I chose a single room; it was small but worth the price I paid. The continental breakfast had enough variety for me and all was very fresh. The hosts were very pleasant and accommodating. I would recommend the hotel.

We stayed as family in Hotel Caprice, it was fantastic. The views from this place was just stunning, almost unreal. Close to the station, dining and so many Grindelwald attractions and cable car stations, just perfect location. Rooms were clean and convenient. Dining staff was very friendly and caring, gave a family vibe. Reception staff and service can be more friendly and helpful ( especially to tourists who have come from 1000s of miles away to visit their little town). Overall I would do it again in a second! Grindelwald is just a dream town.

Hotel Caprice is located near train station, so very convenient to travelers using train. Room conditions were also very clean, and all the staffs i met were very friendly. View from the restaurant where we could get breakfast was fantastic. There is no elevator like many other hotels in this area, but staff helped to bring up the luggage. In short, everything was goo except for price. You should not compare with hotels in Asia

Our check-in/out experience was bad in this hotel. Our train from Milan to Spiez was late so we missed the last train connecting Spiez with Grindelwald. We had to find a taxi to take us from Spiez to Grindelwald which took us a while. On the way I found an email from the hotel asking if we’re checking in tonight and stating that they will charge an extra 25CHF for each hour we arrive late after 9:00pm for check in. This wasn’t announced anywhere in the rules of the hotel or check-in agreement. While checking out the owner wanted us to pay that amount of money and he didn’t like that I argued about it. At the end when I told him that this rule is not mentioned anywhere, he let it go. Otherwise the hotel was nice. Within Walking distance of the train station and about 3 minutes walk from the city center. You’ll enjoy a very nice view from the breakfast terrace. It’s a family business and the owner was informative and helpful (one night my brother was locked out of his hotel after midnight so he called the property and asked them to open the door for him) The only thing that wasn’t comfortable in our room was one of the mattresses. It was too soft but the one on the other bed was ok.

This hotel is a MUST visit. It is the perfect chalet with beautiful mountain views. The staff is also amazing. During my stay I was unfortunately a bit sick, the staff was so helpful in driving me to and from the doctor. They really made me feel like family and I really appreciated it. Thank you hotel caprice! Can’t wait to come back. Incredible hotel!

Good location, room is very clean and breakfast is good too. The only down sides are - to get to the hotel there is a narrow ramp you have to get up and no lift in the hotel so if you have heavy luggages it will be an issue to carry up the staircase.

Really excellent place to stay for walking around the Eiger. Beautifully kept, easy parking, 2 minute walk to the train, Fantastic breakfasts and the most wonderful view of the Eiger from our third floor balcony. Loved this place!!

Nice hotel in Grindelwald - with a caveat
We booked a “room with mountain view” and were consequently slightly puzzled and disappointed to find out our room only had a very partial mountain view (one had to bend over to see a few mountains, that means no direct view from the middle of the room). We complained and the owner told us there was nothing he could do as the hotel was fully booked; he also refused any compensation and refused to acknowledge any of our complaint. We thought this was poor guest service and an attitude unworthy of a hotel manager. After we involved Expedia however, the owner got in touch with us and told us we could be changed to a room with an actual mountain view the next day - which we did. This gesture was appreciated and saved the trip. The hotel has a truly amazing spa, which is better than spas at some 5* hotels I’ve been to. All in all a nice chalet hotel in Grindelwald.

It is normal, that you do not see the full mountain from the middle of the room as we are so close to the mountain. The second room, we offered you to change in had the same few from the middle of the room it is facing the Eiger, which you can see only if you are standing in front of the window...;-)By the way, the fact that I offered you the room change has nothing at all to do with the fact that you contacted Expedia. I told the customer service representative exactly what I told you. "You have been given exactly the room you booked. We are fully booked and unfortunately we cannot offer you another room today."In any case, we would be very happy if we could perhaps welcome you back again. Just Ok
Our shower was faulty, couldn’t shower in the room and we only realized it at night. Owner could not fix it and did not offer to compensate us in any way. This hotel has no elevator so if you are not travelling light, it’s not a good option. However owner was helpful with carrying our luggages up the stairs. Wellness area has a small jacuzzi and that’s the only pool in the hotel. It’s cosy. Breakfast was great and they offer a good selection. We had a satisfactory stay but could be better if owner would have compensated us for the night without the shower which I think it’s rather unacceptable especially for the price we paid. A little gesture goes a long way.

Nice Hotel with view of Eiger
I had an excellent time here at the Caprice Hotel. I am very happy to recommend this Hotel. It is a family owned hotel with a beautiful view of the Eiger, lots of Swiss charm on a very quiet location. I felt at home right away. The staff was amazing and very attentive and I was very pleased with the service and the details that the Hotel offered, such as a wellness oase, charming and wonderful lounge in Swiss style, in house bar, internet connection and most of all an amazing breakfast buffet. I can't wait to come back soon,

Great location and views
Located just a few minutes away from Grindelwald station and within very easy walk of the bars and restaurants make this hotel ideally situated. There is the opportunity for some great hiking - or the less active of you can take trains or cable cars up the mountains for some stunning views. Grindelwald itself has a very good transport infrastructure with regular trains to Interlaken Ost and local buses.

Great service, amazing view
The hotel operator Mr Alex was extremely helpful, caring and understanding. He went out of his way to accommodate our family and answered all our questions to help us make the most out of our trip. The view was simply stunning. Standing in the back yard takes your breath away!

Great location to everything and train station
Very nice hotel. Enjoyed meeting Alexander and Nicole. They were very accommodating in working with my sister and I given we had to postpone are trip originally when my sister got diagnosed with an inner ear infection which meant she could not fly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone

Great time at the Caprice in Grindelwald
This is a family run, small hotel on a hill overlooking Grindelwald. The hosts were fantastic- helpful with every aspect of our stay. The room was very nice, perhaps a bit dated in terms of decor. Breakfast is a definite highlight- typical Swiss/German bread, buns, cheese, meats, etc. and the hosts will make eggs and bacon on request. The location was perfect- just 2 minutes from the train station, and the same to many shops, restaurants, etc. The hotel has a very nice health centre- with whirlpool baths, a sauna and steam bath, etc. Perhaps my only complaint is that wifi is not included. Grindelwald itself is an absolutely gorgeous town at the foot of the Eiger with many activities and lots of trails for hiking. My overall rating is 4.5/5.

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast
One of the best B&B's we've ever stayed in. Great location near the train station, wonderful hosts, and unbeatable views. Amenities are wonderful. Will definitely stay here again!!

Good location and nice family run hotel.
Simple accomodation but clean. Staff was nice. Small rooms. Wish we could have had a bar of soap instead of dispenser of body/corp gel and I hated blow dryer. No free internet!
