Enjoyable stay
We had a very enjoyable stay at Sun Village for 2 weeks. The staff were very friendly, the rooms very clean and the hotel very quiet considering how central it is to Malia.

The location of this hotel is great because you can easily walk everywhere! It is also comfortable that it has parking and it is at the end of a street so it is very quiet. It is a family ran hotel and they we were all very nice and welcoming! They have a good breakfast selection (for purchase) and a lovely pool. The only reason I cannot give the hotel 5 stars is because our room was quite outdated. They have remodeled rooms with their own private pool (which were unfortunately sold out when we booked).we would recommend to spend the extra money for the modern rooms as I’m sure it will make your stay more pleasant. If we are ever in Malia again we would return to check out the new rooms.

The location of this boutique hotel was great. It was quiet and had covered parking so you did not have to park on the street. The pool area was really good. We appreciated the abundant trees and flowering bushes - felt very tropical. Banana trees, palm trees, flowering cacti, bird of paradise.....Room was fine. Nothing spectacular but clean. We would recommend this property.

Lovely boutique hotel in central Malia
Beautifully designed for complete relaxation and perfectly located just 2 minutes away from the high street and the sea. Marina is one of the best hotel managers I've ever met, very attentive and supportive. Even strict house rules (no food or drinks at the pool) and temporary issues with Internet connection or hot water will not prevent us from recommending this hotel to everyone.

Superb find. The hotel is a little gem in Malia area. It is quiet, the pool is clean, the room is neat and large. For the price, it is really a great stay. They also provide breakfast with extra charges in the morning or poolside drinks. Friendly staff. We will go back to this hotel when we visit Malia again.

Not a boutique Hotel, but small not well equipped apartments. Less a feeling of welcome, more of inconvenience. Hotels.com stated to pay on departure, but my card was demanded from me and processed, and I was ordered to key in my PIN. Rather put out as not even a hello had been uttered, I explained that it was usual to say you would rather someone pay up front rather than demand a card. I was spoken to very rudely. Not the usual Cretan welcome. The room was a disappointment and very dirty. The website photos had been carefully selected, and the bathroom was awful. Insufficient storage space meant I had to live out of my suitcase, and my things were ransacked every day. One day I was not feeling well, and I kept being disturbed by the “cleaners”. They kept laughing every time I asked them to leave as I was not dressed, and I found the whole experience very disturbing. It made me sad that at 5pm in the pool a small child was told not to laugh as the hotelier would be angry. It was not possible to have breakfast at a reasonable time. Basically, if I had not been forced to pay up front I would have moved to a proper hotel. Although, when I had an issue with my phone, the hotelier did allow me to use her laptop, but I wondered if this was because I could not get an internet signal in my room! Basically a collection of small apartments, lacking promised facilities, with an unwelcoming ambience, and although the grounds are quite pretty certainly not somewhere I would return to.

A bit of an oasis
This hotel operates like a family-run organisation. Malia these days has been ruinously developed in strip-mall style. It mostly caters to quad-bikers, lap dancers and drunks, and could be anywhere, never feeling like Crete. This hotel is calmer and a bit better. Marina is the reason for this- a happy and hard-working manager. She has made this hotel a little oasis of calm in a desert of madness.

Amazing hotel
This is a fab hotel in a perfect location - a few minutes walk to the beach and to shops and restaurants. The hotel is gorgeous. Huge and lovely rooms. It has a really nice pool area and bar. Highly recommended!

Excellent choice in Malia
This is the best value for your dollar in Malia. The location is excellent and the hosts are friendly and helpful (thanks Marina!!!). The wifi doesn't always work well but they will imporve it soon and this seems to be a problem in all hotels in the Greek islands. In short, if you're going to Malia don't think twice SunVillage is #1

The owners treated me like a King. Whatever I needed that bent over backwards to make it possible. This hotel is more for relaxing and family but you are only a few minutes from all the restaurants and bars. Very pleasant stay.

Comfortable, clean hotel close to the beach
SunVillage Hotel was one of the best hotels that I have stayed in. From the constantly available and friendly staff to the location of the hotel to dozens of restaurants, bars, and the beach, I couldn't have picked better lodgings for me vacation in Malia. When first arriving to Malia, my cab driver had no idea how to get to the hotel but a local was nice enough to lead us to the hotel and the receptionist let us check into our room hours before check-in because my friends and I were extremely tired from our ferry ride to Crete. We were shown several options for rooms that we could choose from, and experienced one of the smoothest check-in processes ever! Our entire stay at SunVillage was extremely peaceful and relaxing. All of the facilities were clean, and the other residents were very friendly and inviting. The hotel is located within walking distance from numerous restaurants, but tucked away perfectly from the main party street if one wants to get some sleep at night. I greatly recommend this hotel to any and everyone!

Peaceful and quiet
Malia is a busy resort, no doubt you could end up in the wrong end of town and be disturbed by the hectic night life. Not so with this little gem, sufficiently far away from the madding crowds but close enough to the Dolphon beach, just 5 minutes walk across the road and of course easy access to the Malia strip with all the shops and bars. Old town is about 15 minutes walk using a route which avoids the busy areas. The hotel is really well maintained with a focus on keeping a fresh and modern/ boutique look and feel. Rooms provide ample accomodation space, they are very clean and have up to date facilities including kitchen area with cooker and fidge. Feels like a new hotel, lovely plants and nicnacs make it very homely. Pool is a good size. Marina is a great host and you get the strong impression the family care about their guests. Will definitely return.

An oasis in a busy area!
We stayed one day on our honey moon at Marinas hotel, Sun Village, and were very good treated! The hotel is definetily a 4 star hotel. The rooms are nice and clean, everyone with their own theme. They have a nice view over the pool area and the beach. The bathroom is of high standard and the room has nice atmosphere. However, the beds are a bit stiff/hard. The pool area is really nice! its suited both for family's and for adults. It has a bar area next to the pool were you can order drinks and have your breakfast in the morning. We can really recommend the place. If you are family, make sure to go the beaches on the right side of the hotel, which are calmer and cleaner. The town is really busy and suited for youngsters who wants to party all day and night. We found a nice greek restaurant by the main road, Alexis. That's were the greeks go. It's good value for the money.

Meget meget flott leilighet med store rom. Oppholdsrom med kjøkken som hadde alt og mer tid. Digert bad og stort soverom med god seng. Stor terrasse utenfor soverommet. Das Hotel war einfach nur perfekt für meine Frau und mich. Es ist natürlich das schönste was es gibt, aber für einen zu spät gebuchten Urlaub, war es perfekt. Ruhige Lage, dennoch nähe zur Stadt, Restaurants und Bars. Ich empfehle jeden, ein fahrbares Mobil zu mieten (Quad, Roller oder Auto). Da dadurch man viel mehr sieht generell von der Insel. Wir hatten uns ein großes Quad gemietet. Dadurch konnten wir nach Heraklion, Nikolaos, Elounda und auch in die Berge zum Dikteon Andron, aber auch weil die liebe Hotelrezeptionistin uns gute Routen vorgeschlagen hat. Insgesamt ein perfekter Urlaub

Knus en goed verzorg hotel met oog voor detail
Gerund door een gezellige Griekse familie die altijd voor je klaar staat. Net buiten de drukte van het centrum en toch overal vlakbij. Op slechts enkele minuten loopafstand van het strand.

Das Hotel ist gut konzipiert und liebevoll gestaltet (Pool, Dekoration), das Team engagiert und freundlich. Leider entsprechen die Angaben auf der Homepage nicht ganz der Realität, die Küche ist nicht vollständig eingerichet (keine Kochgelegnehit, fehlendes Geschirr). Selbstversorgung ist nur bedingt möglich.

Heerlijk kleinschalig hotel
Wat een top plekje is dit zeg! Erg mooi ingericht hotelletje met een heerlijk zwembad en ruime kamers. En erg belangrijk, met heerlijke bedden!! En alles op loopafstand, alhoewel het hebben van een auto oid wel erg aan te bevelen is, omdat je dan het het eiland een beetje kan verkennen. Wanneer wij weer naar Malia gaan, zouden we hier zeker weer verblijven.

Malia i sig är inget ställe för dig som inte är runt 18, från Storbritannien och letar efter en veckas ordentlig grisfylla. Hotellet däremot ligger lite i utkanten av det värsta kaoset och är perfekt för avslappning i en trivsam miljö. Nära till strand och tre bra restauranger: Thalasso, Drossia och Eva! Cykeltur i bergen rekommenderas! Trevlig vistelse!

Idealer Ausgangspunkt und tolles Design
Gleich bei der Ankunft im Hotel und anschließend den Zimmern, fühlt man sich, als wäre man in eine Architektur und Innendesign Zeitschrift eingetaucht. Jedes Detail ist aufeinander abgestimmt und ergibt ein rundes, modernes und gemütliches Ambiente. Die Zimmer sind in 3-Stöckigen kleineren Gebäuden um den Pool angeordnet. Wir haben 2 DZ zur Alleinnutzung gebucht und erhielten jeweils eines in verschiedenen Gebäuden. Die Zimmer sind alle individuell und verschieden eingerichtet, jedoch wird der Einrichtungsstil beibehalten. Ein großes Bett, Couch, Schrank und TV bilden das Schlafzimmer. Hiervon geht ein geräumiger Balkon mit Sitzgelegenheit und Wäscheständer ab. Weiter gelangt man aus dem Schlafzimmer in ein kleines, aber zweckmäßiges Bad mit Dusche und Föhn. Eine Küchenzeile bietet die Möglichkeit zu Selbstversorgung. Hier kann das Surren des Kühlschranks für empfindliche Ohren etwas störend sein. Die Zimmer sind mit einer Klimaanlage ausgestattet, die sich per Fernbedienung einfach regeln lässt. Sobald man die Fenster öffnet, schaltet sich die Anlage automatisch aus. Beim Schließen wieder ein.

Ruhig und doch zentral in Strandnähe!
Insgesamt hatten wir einen schönen Urlaub, das Hotel liegt am Ortsrand und daher ruhig, von der ca 100 m entfernt beginnenden Partymeile hört man nichts! Wenige Schritte entfernt hat man die ersten Restaurants und in ca 5 Minuten erreicht man den schönen Sandstrand! Die Außenanlage mit dem Pool ist liebevoll gestaltet und sehr gepflegt! Unser Zimmer war klein, hübsch eingerichtet und hatte eine kleine Küchenzeile mit einem sehr alten und lauten Kühlschrank, einem Wasserkocher und einer Kochplatte! Das Bad war sehr klein, es gab einen Fön, aber keine Steckdose! Bei der Zimmersauberkeit darf man nicht genau hin schauen! Aufgrund der Lage und dem schönen Außenbereich würde ich das Hotel weiter empfehlen! Den angebotenen Transfer vom Flughafen muss man nicht buchen, da genügend Taxen am Flughafen stehen und auch die Preise ausgewiesen sind! Im Hotel wird nur englisch gesprochen, wie auch größtenteils im Ort!

RESERVATION 13360392772 ALLEM// HASSAINE HERAKLION SUN VILLAGE En effet voici le récapitulatif de notre séjour : Nous sommes arrivées par le vol de 22h 05 à Héraklion et avions réservé un véhicule. Nous sommes partis de l’aéroport vers 22h40 et avons prévenu l’hôtel de notre arrivée légèrement après 23h00 et je dois dire que malgré notre arrivée vers minuit car nous avons eu de grosse difficultés à trouver l’hôtel (juste un minuscule panneau) nous avons était attendu et reçus TRES GENTIMENT. Nous avons eu les clés de la chambre N° 1 et en ouvrant la porte nous avons était surpris de suite par l’aspect qui n’avait absolument RIEN à voir avec les photos de votre site, de celui de l’hôtel ou bien sur Tripadvisor…… et pas de double rideaux malgré deux grands portes fenêtres dont 1 à 60 cm du lit. Vu l’heure tardif et notre fatigue nous n’avons rien dis car nous rêvions de prendre une douche manger et dormir. Le lendemain n’arrivant pas à dormir je me suis levée est attendu que la patronne arrive. E lui ai fait part de mon mécontentement très gentiment et elle m’a dit qu’elle verrait pour nous changer de chambre. Nous sommes partis pour la journée et à notre retour je suis allé voir de suite pour la chambre et là on nous dit que le dimanche il n y as p
