Overall this was a nice property with very convenient shopping options. The restaurant and breakfast was amazing and the staff there was easy to work with and professional. Working with the front desk, staff was awkward. During each breakfast, there was a gentleman sitting on the edge of the patio, smoking cigarettes the entire time we were eating. The wind blew all that smoke across into all the seats. He seemed like an owner or manager, But he never really did anything. His friends would come join him and make even more smoke. Other than this, it was a nice restaurant and a good hotel to stay, great balcony views of the ocean.

Book here - it’s the best!
I would highly recommend! The position of the hotel is just across the road from a blue flag beach - lots of sun loungers and water sports available. Two minute walk to a supermarket to make the most of the studio apartment rooms we had booked. Room was spotless on arrival and kept that way for my whole stay. Water pressure on the shower was great (a big bug bear of mine when I can’t get a proper shower!) Aircon was easy to use and kept the the room at a good temperature when required. We arrived early hours of the morning and had a great reception by Dino, very attentive service via Maria’s x 2 and the lovely Athanasia (the hotel is clearly her passion). Thank goodness for local businesses that do a great job and make my stays away when not doing business just wonderful! Couldn’t recommend more!

The location is great, the old town only 15 minutes walk and the hotel is just next to the sea which is extremely convenient. The room was spacious, well-equipped and clean. The staff was very helpful and kind. Perhaps the selection of the breakfast could improve, but from my side it was absolutely fine. Overall, we couldn't wish better staying for us.

I loved the proximity to the beach, and it was walkable to the old town area. Lots of great shops and restaurants around. The hotel was very modern and hotel staff was very nice. My room had a beautiful view of the beach, and the price was very affordable. I the things I really disliked about this hotel were that on Expedia it said that there was free parking available (there wasn’t) and it seemed that the hotel had their own beach facilities (they don’t). I felt misled by the listing, but I made it work. Other complaints about the property are that the shower was wide open, so water would splash all over the bathroom floor, which was super annoying and a very poor design. I also found that the bathroom towels got really smelly like body odor after one or two uses. I think the hotel needs to wash their towels better, or consider getting new towels. Given the price point, I was overall pleased with the hotel, but there is some need for improvement.

I can’t say enough great things about Maria and Steris! The whole staff was wonderful. The location is easy for driving in and walking to old town. We borrowed bikes and rode them to old town. Everyone really was just above and beyond!

10 day break
Very clean hotel, we would have preferred a double bed rather than 2 singles pushed together. There was a confusion with our booking so had to change rooms half way through the holiday, which was a little annoying. But great views and a good place to stay.

Great choice
Steris was lovely. Great location, opposite the beach, walking distance to the town, restaurants, activity. Rooms clean, wonderful staff. Breakfast was nice and view fantastic. Only thing I'd suggest is firmer pillows. I would definitely stay again and would highly recommend to others. Felt like we were family, not guests. Really nice 😊

Great location and view from 1 bedroom apartment. I would rate this hotel this way; room 3.5 star, nice view, everything you need, spacious. Service 2 star. Breakfast 1 star, not clean, limited and just did not feel food was appetizing and clean. Lobby was so hot no a/c, feel bad for employees. Pool was very tiny and 3 chairs. Location 5 star, beach, old town restaurants all right there and short walk. They charge you for towel 3 euro and if you want to wash it if staying longer they charge you again. The housekeepers were really great, super nice and excellent. For the price we paid felt was not up to that level.

Nice stay, great location and big breakfast.
The hotel itself is very well located, right across the street from beach and within an easy10 to 15 mins. walk (along the water), to the harbor an old town. No parking at hotel itself but found a spot around the corner within a short walk. I would think it would be very difficult to find a space in high season. The stucco front of the hotel was being redone but it didn't affect us. The hotel is a very nice looking place, clean, good service, with elevator. The rooms are very clean, spacious, along with nice size bathroom. I would classify it like an upscale Super 8 but it was comfortable. Also a small kitchen area with a electric teapot and nice Nespresso machine, complimentary coffee and tea, etc. Breakfast was very good and very much! Eggs cooked our way, selection of cheeses, meats, breads, croissants, yogurt, coffee and tea. More than we could eat! The owner/manager was lovely and gracious. She encouraged us to make a sandwich to take with us along with some rolls. She just seemed to want to please us and was very sweet. She also was very helpful in giving us directions and information on the area.

Descent hotel near the beach
Our stay was okay, but there are things that could improve. First i have to say the manager was nice to talk to and kind. The room had a sofa bed that was the most uncomfortable i ve tried in my life. I had to sleep there cause there was no crib avail. To be fair, i requested this kinda late and they were no availlable for that night. So my wife took the bed with the kid, i took the sofa. The pillows were not the best either. The room was well equiped. The tv was very small however. Another weird thing, the bathroom door had no lock, its designed just to close with a bit of a gap, so anyone can push and open. Its bad when you have kids runing around, or want your privacy. Just bad stylish choice i guess. The area is near to the beach, with lots of shops around. The city centre is 10-15 min walk or so. All in all it wasnt a bad stay, the hotel is renovating too, as many seem to do around the area when we were there. But there are things that could improve.

Sadly we had 2 rainy/windy days in Rethymno so we couldn’t enjoy the pool but we made use of the big supermarket nearby and really enjoyed the apartment (very grateful for the free upgrade!) the bed was comfy and thick balcony doors meant no traffic noises at night time. The bike rental for 3 euros for the whole day was a delight. The air con randomly turned itself on sometimes but easy to stop with remote control. There was no washing up liquid and sponge but the staff were very responsive when I asked for some, there was always someone on reception if I needed a Q answered. The fridge magnets at the end were s lovely touch also

Great holiday in Rethymnon
Lovely hotel, clean, comfortable and modern, spacious room. Breakfast was very limited and not very nice. Great location for the beach and close to the old town, with lots of shops and restaurants. Perfect hotel for what we wanted, just a shame about the breakfast.

Rethymno Gem
A real “Gem” so glad we found this hotel, staff were so friendly and helpful, even let us put our cases in our room before we checked in! The room and bathroom were large and had everything we needed, and the sea view from our lovely balcony was perfect. We will definitely return.

Nice hotel next to the beach
Very nice hotel , staff friendly and spoke very good English beach just across the road . plenty of restaurants to ether side of hotel . old town of rethymnon 10 min walk away , which had plenty of shops and restaurants and sightseeing. In all I would recommend hotel as very clean and comfortable pool was to small,but everything else was excellent.

Good location. Great staff and clean rooms.
The hotel is well located, a stone's throw away from the beach. The cleanliness of the room was excellent. The hotel pool was small and didn't add any value to the experience in my opinion. The staff were very helpful and gave some great recommendations of places to visit and eateries. As we went at a time when they were just coming out of winter the air-condition was not set for the summer temperatures. So we struggled a bit in the night time with lesser cooling in the room. This is only because we are used to cold temperatures. The staff did try to help us as much as possible.

Steris Beach Hotel is an excellent location for beach, and a short stroll into the center. Long flat promenade on the beachfront is very nice. Management were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of places to eat and drink.

Beautiful hotel, great location and friendly staff
This hotel is beautiful - the room we were in was beautifully designed, clean and fun to be in. The location is great, on the beach, 10 minutes walk from the port and the shopping area in the old city. The staff is also great, friendly and helpful.

Fabulous hotel
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two weeks and found it to be a most enjoyable experience. Our room had a partial sea view from the spacious balcony equipped with a table and chairs. The room was very comfortable and had a small kitchenette equipped with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was clean and good in size. The bed was comfortable for us and staff helped me out with additional pillows when I made the request. They were so very friendly and professional with our whole stay. The hotel is right across the street from the long stretch of sandy beach (approx. 3 kms). The whole beach is organised with umbrellas and lounges which some places are free of charge upon an order of coffee etc. Our whole experience was so fabulous, we are planning our next holiday at Steris. Thank you to everyone for making so pleasant during our stay.

Lovely small hotel.
Simple hotel with very bright and pleasant rooms. Close to the beach and only a ten minute walk to the Old Town. Easy location and some award winning food at the restaurant below The Ambrosia, which also provides food and drinks to the beach opposite should you need ! :)

Good hotel, excellent location
Steris apartments are ideally located for both the beach and a short walk to the lovely Old Town area. The staff are friendly and the chambermaids were very efficient. The small downside was a very small pool but you are near enough on the beach!! Breakfast had little variation but what was on offer was good. Would not hesitate to recommend!!

We had a lovely weeks stay at steris, it was our first time in Crete and rethymno was lovely. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The staff are very friendly, more so on reception than in the restaurant though! The food we had in the hotel was good but would have been nice to have a bigger selection for breakfast as there was a great variety and the same everyday. But overall the hotel was a very pleasant experience.

Nice people, friendly, clean. Many good restaurants around. Short walk to the fortress and old town. Parking in the street is possible in off season (oct). Recommend Sotos, Hercules and the italian restaurant opposite the street.
