Not sure why our rating would be poor as the only issue the guest had why a declining Expedia payment. Expedia corrected the issue. Spoke with guests in the morning at breakfast and no room or stay issues were communicated. These guests travelled with their dog where Briarcliff is pet friendly with no pet fees.

This guest is not welcome back to our property, as they disturbed guests on other side of his room with loud voices and loud music. They also had a strong smell of cannabis in their room. We had to room move the guests next to his room and put the room off market for ozone cleaning. This is a very rare occasion for our peaceful property where guests are respectful to one another.

Hi Elizabeth,We are sorry to hear that you thought our room was dirty. I can assure you that they are thoroughly cleaned after each guest visit. Most of the guests that leave us feedback find us charming. We did not hear from you directly with any concerns during your one-night stay. We understand that you had issues with your room. We are sorry to hear that you had difficulty operating our lever door handles. The Innkeeper lives on property but was at the market during your brief time at Briarcliff.We were glad that your received assistance from our sister property the Red Lion Inn. Just to clarify, we are a vintage rehabbed charming roadside motel. The Red Lion Inn is an Iconic American Inn and completely different concepts. Our rooms are clean and simple, all shades in good working order. We appreciate feedback of any kind as we are always trying to improve our guest experience.

We cannot respond to an anonymous review, and we have had no guest feedback from a hotel.com guest stating they had issues during their time here. And have 3 areas of wildflowers and take pride with being a super pollinator. As for the building we are a rehabbed motel from the 1950's and we are always working on the building to improve our guest experience.

Dennis, I love the birch wallpaper in that room, we will get in there to paste the peel. We have the lobby open 730am-1030am 7 days a week. The lobby door is mostly open while we are cleaning rooms for arrivals. There is an informational sheet hanging in the room that let's guest know they can reserve the lobby. Hi Lori,Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We understand the rate is higher in the height of the summer season in the Berkshires, please know the market and location set the rate. We are a renovated vintage motel from the 1950's, located at the base of Monument Mountain on 4 acres of green space. We are always improving our guest experience and are grateful to the guests who let us know of their experience while they are staying with us. We were happy to welcome you, your husband and your dog for a no pet fee ever stay. Another aspect of savings when staying at Briarcliff. We are aware of our desk chair cover being permanently stained. It is an Ikea chair that has been discontinued. We assure you that it has been laundered many times. As for the toilet, we have well water that is high in minerals, that leave a mineral deposit on all of the bathroom equipment. Again,I can assure you that our cleaning process addresses this issue. Lastly, we were happy to assist you after you check out with helping you clean up your dog before you headed back home, He is a good boy!

This being understood we ask that travelers please provide an email address in their reservation so that we may email their contactless check in information. We provide check in information on all 3rd party platforms and on our website. This information explains our contactless check in procedures. We either text or email check information to our guests. The Innkeeper lives onsite but does not have a 24-hour desk. We did not receive an email from you and do not check our social media for guest messages. We text, email and use our mobile phone to communicate with our guests. We are glad to hear that our sister property was able to assist you with your contactless check in information. Hopefully this information helps you and others.

Stanley, this is a bit of a naughty review, considering you shared no unhappiness when you joined us for breakfast with all our happy guests in the morning . We let you check in early as our check in is 3pm and you arrived early. And the MARKET dives the rate, of being able to stay ONE night in the Berkshires during the Summers a 2 night minimum. We never list that we are in the center of town which we THINK you meant in your review. We are tucked away on Monument Mountain on rt 7 in between Stockbridge and Great Barrington Proper with beautiful views. We are indeed old as this property is from 1950 and REHABBED in 2017...….thanks Stanley...we always take any kind of feedback in to consideration.
