"The Hampton Inn has always been a chain that I have found more than satisfactory. I have only stayed with them a handful of times, across several states/locations, but have always encountered consistent quality.
The Palestine, TX location was a great representation of that expectation. The grounds were decently kept, the common areas appeared well-cleaned, the room we were given was excellent, and the staff we spoke with on 2 occasions were very friendly and helpful. I was mildly surprised there was no carpet in out room, but overall it was very comfortable. It is located not far from downtown and near gas stations and restaurants, chain and local, so fairly convenient. I am also very glad they are still pet-friendly, although I think their $75 fee is a bit high.
It was a mild disappointment that there was no longer a pool. In the middle of Texas, even in mid-Spring, temperatures climb quickly and often. A pool on premises would have been an excellent respite from the heat of the day. I hope their new ballroom serves them well.
Although we do not expect to be visiting the area again, I will definitely look to stay here, if possible."
