"From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there. Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north."

"What a great stay. Kevin and Maria were very attentive, warm, and hospitable. This was our first night in UK after a long flight and felt like home. The accommodations were very nice and the king room was so cozy. The bed slept great and had everything we needed. The breakfast was first class but also made us feel like we were staying with family! Thanks for the great stay."

"Lovely homely hotel/pub. Staff very friendly and the food was excellent. Great location for a stop on the way to Scotland as not far off of the motorway. Beautiful area."

"This is a 5 star BnB, set in beautiful gardens and farming land, very quiet (except for the occasional RAF trainer jets during the day) and elegantly appointed. Close enough to town but away from the madding crowd!
Of our 4 weeks travel thus far, this has been the standout."

"Great little guest house with stunning views.
Of Ullswater. We used the guest house as visiting the Inn on the Lake which is literally just across the road.
Spotless room and super friendly staff 👍"

"Had a light large room with en suite, if you want fancy then this is not for you, the couple running it are very easy to talk to and very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was good, right in the centre of town. "

"The house itself is beautiful. Grounds are well maintained, stunning views, pleasant staff, delicious breakfast and lots of parking. Train station to other areas if almost directly opposite.
My only gripe was the internet. We had no access throughout our stay in our room - number 8, and very limited in other areas of the hotel. I know we didn’t have a break to be on our phones all day, but it is essential in these days to have access to it."
"Our hotel room was a bit dated and was far too hot with no way of cooling it down. There was also no fridge.
The food was fine, although there were a lot of prepacked foods used (such as pancakes at breakfast, bean burger at dinner). We also ordered packed lunches for our hike and they were quite basic for the £17.50 they cost and they were also quite squashed when they were given to us (the banana was a bit mouldy too as well as being very bruised).
The pool was amazing and we all loved it and although we didn't use the spa it looked lovely too. The changing rooms were far too hot though which made getting dressed very uncomfortable.
The staff were all lovely, especially at reception, really chatty and friendly.
With a few little improvements I feel this could be a fantastic hotel."
"We loved everything about The Belsfield Hotel. We stayed there a few years ago and it was beautiful, but since it has new owners, the staff are happier, the hotel is continually being updated restoring it to it's former glory. Our room was perfect, the breakfast was incredible and the staff couldn't have been nicer with us. We will be returning again later in the year, before we get married there. It's a gorgeous, stunning hotel."
