"I’m confident it will be better over time, but right now they have quite a bit to work on.
Many drinking glass were not cleaned and spider web on some chairs.
Despite >85% empty (my assumption) we got an apartment where we had to go up some stairs to reach it. No elevator and not possible to change.
The reception is not very quick or helpful. Took 10 minutes from the got or passports until check in was done, or even more.

"This is a great little hotel very close to Santa Apolonia station. Great views of the water, very clean, comfortable beds, great shower and conveniently located. Good communication with the host and clear instructions for entry. I would definitely recommend this place."

"Paula was an amazing host and flexible to our family needs. Very responsive and always helpful. Only tip is to communicate ahead of time to ensure the apartment meet your needs, they have a few different options. We had one that was not ideal for us, but then Paula quickly resolved and was very understanding. Finally, area is walkable don't recommend having a vehicle. Use Bolt in town. "

"É a minha segunda vez no Monte do Giestal, mas tal como na primeira, uma estadia prolongada de 5 dias.
Tudo é bom aqui, desde as amplas e equipadas casas, super confortáveis, ao espaço exterior, sossego, comida entregue a porta de casa pelas sempre atenciosas funcionárias que não deixam que falte nada.
Mais, venho com o meu cão, de porte grande, e também ele adora o Monte. Tem bastante espaço para correr livremente e é muito bem recebido. "

"Full of character located in the heart of the lovely small city of Setubal. The host was very helpful and the accommodation easy to find and access. We opted for the studio as we were only staying 4 nights. It was perfectly clean and functional but also has a little added charm that would appeal to romantics. Good base to explore the city and the surrounding region that is well worth visiting. "

"The apartment was noisy, not well kept and pretty dirty. The bathroom is so tiny and we often found roaches in the morning. However, the location is unbeatable."

"The hotel had obviously had a recent refurbishment, and I commend the designer, builder, owner to their attention to detail. The room was clean, as was the compact bathroom. The room had luggage rack was big enough to take 2 suitcases side by side. The hanging space was open sided but with coat hangers with actual hooks, not anti theft fittings, air conditioning controls for the room. TV , Google TV so if you want to watch it's subscription. Quiet location, but at least 6 different restaurants in the street outside within 30m walk. For cruisers you can see and walk to and from the cruise terminal from directly outside the hotel, you would need to negotiate perhaps 200m of cobbled walkway before a smooth surface would allow suitcases to be walked to and from the terminal, no gauntlet of rip off, cash only taxi drivers. The staff are multi lingual welcoming efficient, there to help, good breakfast choices. Maybe 25 rooms on 4 floors, small 4 person lift, ground floor is cafe, bar breakfast area, reception, somebody thought about the traveller in putting this hotel together, well done."
"We had a very enjoyable stay for our first time in Lisbon. The Aurea hotel is located close to the cruise port so it’s in a very safe location. Although this means it is also very “touristy”! This is fine however as there’s plenty of great restaurants in walking distance as well as the historic Alfama district literally right behind the hotel! Just be ready to climb a lot of steep hills & staircases.
The hotel itself is very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful! The room we had was a basic king - which in Europe means two full beds pushed together. The room was decent sized nothing special however. The bathroom was very nice with two basins and even a bidet. My only complaint was our toilet seat was broken a bit and kept sliding which they did their best to try to fix. I Suspect it needs to be fully replaced however.
The breakfast was very good. We only did it on one day but it blew away what you get in the US at most upper scale restaurants, no real surprise as Lisbon has a phenomenal food culture! Unfortunately the dinner we did not do as the sene took us quite small surprisingly and the one night we did want to try it they were out of the steak, so we went elsewhere.
For shopping, It’s only a few blocks from the Main Shopping districts as well of Chiado/ Baixa. Just avoid the obvious tourist traps right next door. You Definitely need to walk a bit further to get to the good stuff.
Overall an excellent stay."
"A treasure of a sweet hotel in the old town of Alfama . Stellar front desk staff for hospitality. One of the gentleman even came outside and carried my suitcase in. The manager was lovely as well ensuring we got an early check in. Beautiful breakfast and outdoor patio. Enjoyed the free walking tour they provided of the neighborhood. The room was clean and great bathroom. They even have a small outdoor pool."
