"The Hotel Tanne is a remarkable escape. The room was gorgeous, with beautiful views, and positioned within a breathtaking courtyard. The food was authentic and delicious. But the most striking aspect is the staff. Our first visit to Bansko, with very rudimentary Bulgarian language skills, the staff nevertheless met our every question and need with a smile and a helpful answer. This place deserves more stars than I am allowed to give."

"Arrived at the hotel but the man could not locate our reservation albeit we had only booked a few minutes before. He suggested we were at the wrong hotel but then showed us to the room. He wasn’t very friendly! We left the hotel at 8:45am but the reception was closed and nobody around. We called a phone number twice that was on the door but nobody answered so we had to leave the key on a hook on the door!!"

"Go to Bansko, just don't pick this hotel. We visited from USA this summer for few days. It few positives: good outside appeal, a scout camp for the kids if you stay a full week, outdoor and indoor pool, breakfast with good variety of fresh fruits and veggies as well as traditional bulgarian options. That being said there is way too many negatives. Service is poor. They are not interested in resolving any concerns or issues their clients have. Our room had a bad smell from the drain in the...

"The room was big enough for 3 people and very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. And the location was excellent, in walking distance of great restaurants and the gondola. The staff were wonderful, so friendly and helpful."

" Average hotel but no more. Impossible to find parking place. Spa is smallest I've ever seen. They charge 60 leva for 100cl cognac but doesn't evet have glasses. TV on lodge vas troubling and we said several times but nobody even bothered. Only good thing was the restaurant and food was very good. Overall hotel is not worth even 2 stars "
