Winston Lodge - Excellent Stay

A recent 7 day stay at the lodge. Service was excellent. Staff was friendly and always looking to help with any needs. The attached bar/restaurant proved to be convenient with good food options. A great stay!

Beautiful and quiet. We were lucky enough to be the only lodgers for the one night. Every part of this lodge is beautiful and comfortable. Beds and bedding are lovely. Nespresso machine and a mini fridge that is actually cold! Staff was so welcoming - we will be back!

Rowan was very nice and we loved the location. We were in room 10. I can’t speak for the other rooms, but the bed linens really need to be replaced. The pillows were flat and awful. Plus the bottom sheets were stretched out of shape and would not stay on the beds while we slept. Other than that, it was fine.

This is a very reasonable priced lodge right up on Kicking Horse. Rooms are rustic and have balconies to relax on. Have stayed before and will definitely come back

Incredible views from our room of the mountain tops across the valley, beautiful building and common areas. Very quiet and relaxing. We loved it! The only small room for improvement was the bed was a bit too soft!

It’s important for people to know that if you book this property in the summer there is no air conditioning! It was 33C when we stayed there and there wasn’t even a fan in the room. Also, website said there were outdoor games (badminton etc) and board games in the lobby for the kids but we couldn’t find any and there are no staff on-site. Overall it’s a charming lodge but perhaps better for a winter stay.

Listing made it look like a true condo with living room and fireplace. What it is is a hotel-like room with 2 queen beds, common area living room and fireplace downstairs. There was a fridge in the room but only microwave was a small one downstairs in the common area. Good mattresses. Wi-fi never worked. Good location. Hot tub out back looked like it hadn’t been used since winter.

Awesome July long weekend

Can’t say enough good things about Winston Lodge and the management. It’s only a block from kicking horse resort, where there are restaurants and a gondola to take for viewpoints, hiking and biking. But so much quieter than staying at the resort. The check in and out was a snap, the parking ample and it was incredibly private but with management readily available and aimed to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Our room had a lovely balcony on the edge of the forest with a creek that soothed us to sleep. The skylight made us feel like we were falling asleep under the stars and the bedding was like sleeping on a cloud. Our room also had a huge bathroom, was super clean and a fridge in the room in a bureau that was big enough to house all of our needs for a few days. We also had Netflix to watch to unwind at the end of the day. So many extra touches like music playing in the common area so that we felt at home when we returned from outings. We will definitely be back!

Skiferien in Kickinghorse

Unser Aufenthalt war gut im Hotel Winston. Wenn man aber seine Ruhe haben will, ist man hier falsch. Wenn die Gäste im gemeinsamen Wohmraum sind, dann wird es sehr laut im Zimmer. Man hört jedes Wort und Gejohle von den Gästen. Jede Türe die geöffnet wird und jeder der die Treppe hoch und runter läuft.

Beware of renting here as the restaurant is not always open and food options are limited. We were not informed of the restaurant closures until a couple days before our stay. Expedia has no way of requesting a refund that I can find and I will avoid booking with Expedia again because they take no responsibility for the misleading information. No one was at reception the first day we arrived, so we started off our holiday scrambling to find food options. The lodge itself is charming but basic. There is a good ski storage area and the location is good.
