Glacier View Wilderness

Just 1100 feet of elevation gain and you too could look like something out of The Sound of Music. But really, the views from the top of this peak are astounding, especially the one of Mt. Rainier that is just the other direction from this one.

Another of this pretty lake! I got a few good shots and couldn't resist posting this one, too. There were lots of bugs at this time of year but nothing some good bug spray couldn't handle.
See how shallow this is? We felt safe letting our three- and six-year-old wade at least 20 yards out into this lovely little lake. The fish were jumping, too!
Mt. Rainier literally looms over you from the top Mt. Beljica. How one pronounces this name is unclear as it was made up from the first letters of the names of the children from two families that climbed this in 1897: Burgon, Elizabeth, Lucy, Jessie, Isabel, Clara, and Alex.

Oh, and this point was once used by professional fire watchers.
