Recent stay at Delta Hotels by Marriott Giardini Naxos was quite disappointing. The location is far from the main tourist area, making it inconvenient for sightseeing, dining, and exploring.
We were two travelers, and unfortunately, one of us became violently ill within an hour of eating at the poolside restaurant/bar. This forced us to extend our stay while recovering. Despite the circumstances, the hotel staff showed little concern or flexibility. They denied any connection between the illness and the food, instead claiming it was “an illness going around,” which was clearly untrue since the other guest was completely fine.
As Marriott Bonvoy members, we were also disappointed by the lack of support. When extending our stay, we were quoted “discounted” Bonvoy rates that were actually higher than what was available through other booking sites. The staff’s dismissive and unhelpful attitude made a difficult situation even worse.
The amenities were equally underwhelming. The pool was far too cold to enjoy — no one was swimming, and anyone who tried quickly left. The gym was small, with limited equipment, and several machines were dated or worn.
Overall, this property feels underwhelming for the price and does not live up to the standards typically expected from a Delta Marriott or Bonvoy hotel. I would not recommend staying here if you want to be near the livelier parts of town or expect friendly, professional service consistent with the Marriott brand.
