Exceptional hotel. Service was fabulous the staff could not do enough for you. Stunning golf courses. Rooms were lovely ask for a golf course view if possible. Would highly recommend.
Very good stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurants we attended were well serviced and the food good. Room clean and comfortable and well serviced. Bathroom Not originally as clean as I would have liked. Interesting water colour due to tannins so takes a bit of getting used to; hotel may want to advise guests. Golf service was not as slick as I thought it would be; missed out on maximizing our golf due to a shortage of golf carts for Montegu course; mislead on how “easy” it was to walk. Armed with extra information on the two courses would have made it simpler. I will be back.
Chose this Hotel over others as wanted to enjoy my 60th Birthday in style, this Hotel did not disappoint, on arrival we were upgraded to a one bedroom Apartment, very spacious with large TV's in both the living room and bedroom, immaculately cleaned and regularly checked by the House cleaning team, we always had a new surprise of wonderful towel designs on our bed when we got back in after a day exploring. I cant fault this Hotel in any way, even though myself and my wife are not golfers, it was just the best choice we could have made, Breakfast was more than ample, we would always go to the Club lounge at night for a nite cap and prices for us here than in the 'UK' are a lot cheaper than back Home, however, their service would leave most places behind, the on site Gym is well stocked and there are free Golf Buggies, complete with drivers to get you around the complex 24/7, if you dont like walking. Ample on site parking
The main reason for writing this review, is to thank the many wonderful staff who made our stay at Fancourt all the better, from checking in at reception 'Mxolisi', the Lady who always ensured we had a ride to the car park 'Josi', our perfect service every morning at Breakfast 'Joyce', the Room attendant who made us smile with her designs on more than one occasion ' Michelle', the Lady who took care of my wife in the Spa' Precious' and our Friendly Bar man who knows how to make a good Aperol Spritze, 'Xolile' thank you all, we will see you next year!!
We were pleasantly surprised to find we had been upgraded to the Manor House, what a superb experience from start to Finish, thanks to Bianca, Earl, Poloko and all the waiter and Kitchen staff. will certainly be back!!

Avoid for business.
There was a bunch of drunk golfers right above my room that kept on partying until 3am, whilst I was preparing to present at a conference the next morning. The inability of security to resolve this was appalling. If you are not geared to properly support business conferences and presenters, then do not include it as one of your offerings. It was my first and last time to stay there.
We made a dinner reservation at the clubhouse for dinner @ 7:30 - I asked for a table close to the fire place away from the bar since I had my elderly parents with me . On arrival
We were seated at the bar and told to order drinks our table was almost ready , an hour later we were seated at our actual reserved table , another hour later the food came ( they were incredibly understaffed ) I had to send my “ Fillet “ back as it was full of tendons , I notified the server and asked her to please show the chef since it
Was impossible to cut through with a knive , They took my meal off the cheque but as a whole
It was a terrible experience - I made a second reservation through Expedia at the same property which I’m going to cancel and book elsewhere .
Absolutely amazing from the minute you get to the gate all the way to the reception and the staff are absolutely amazing. The upgrade was a pleasant surprise as well.
Fancourt is one word - fabulous!! I will definitely stay at this beautiful hotel again. We were treated like VIP’s from the moment we set foot at the premises. We were in awe with the beautiful scenery and our accommodation.
Our stay at Fancourt was a real treat. The setting is beautiful, the appointments luxurious, the service excellent. We resolved to stay longer next time.
We received a warm welcome and were shown to our room which was spotless. The dinner at the members bar was good, however they initially got our order wrong. We arrived to beautiful balmy weather, however woke to rain so we were not able to play golf! Overall the stay was a "real spoil"!
Fancourt is a fantastic property, an oasis along the Cape Garden Route. Everything is immaculate. you cannot believe that you are in Africa. Golf in the Links was demanding but well worth it. The course was in excellent condition and caddies courteous and knowledgeable
Beautiful facility - was supposed to be the highlight of our two week golf trip in SA... check in staff was wonderful and the room was beautiful, but we had issues with our golf booking (tee-times etc) and even though we were completely paid in advance for both the hotel and golf, they made us pay for our first round and then no apology for the mix up and a run-around for reimbursement...not impressed. $430/night and only instant coffee in the room? Unacceptable. Restaurants were ok. You have to stay to play the Links, which was definately worth one night's accommodation, but in retrospect, I would take the money saved by just staying for one night (not 3) and stay somewhere élse in George...for that price, you would get the experience/service that just was "not up to par" at Fancourt.
