"Best hotel experience I have ever had. Service and staff were impeccable. The food was excellent and the room was exceptional. Ambiance of the restaurants and Jacks Hanna house was great- my coffee tasting and archery class help to fill my time."
"Our stay at Sambora Kinigi was truly special and one we will remember for a long time. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed, cared for, and at home. Decoration was beautiful.
Every single member of the team was incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make our stay special. Traveling with our baby daughter can sometimes require a little extra planning and flexibility, but the team accommodated all of our needs with so much warmth, patience, and genuine care. It made such a difference to be able to relax and enjoy our time knowing that our little family was being looked after so thoughtfully.
They also helped us plan our trekking experience, making the whole process so easy and enjoyable. Their local knowledge and willingness to help with every detail made us feel completely taken care of, both at the hotel and while exploring the area.
And a very special thank you to Kai, the manager, who was absolutely extraordinary. Her attention, kindness, and genuine desire to make sure everything was perfect truly stood out. She made us feel not just like guests, but like family.
We left Sambora Kinigi with beautiful memories and so much appreciation for the people who made our stay so wonderful. We would love to come back and wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful place to anyone visiting the area."
"I’d stay here again in a heartbeat, especially if you’re coming to Rwanda for gorilla trekking. The staff were truly outstanding and went above and beyond throughout my entire stay. Everyone was incredibly warm, helpful, flexible, and genuinely focused on making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed.
One of the best touches was coming back after a long day of trekking and having them offer to wash my hiking boots, clean my feet, and give me a foot massage. After hours on the mountain, it felt absolutely amazing and was such a thoughtful level of service.
This is also a perfect hotel for gorilla trekking. Almost everyone staying there was doing a trek, so the staff completely understand the schedule and what guests need. They can prepare a packed lunch for you to take on longer hikes and make the whole experience incredibly easy.
Beautiful hospitality, wonderful staff, and exceptional service. They made my stay feel special, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Volcanoes National Park."
"We had a wonderful stay at Volcanoes Over View Safaris and Camp. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our visit.
Although Google Maps initially led us to an impassable road, the local community was kind enough to guide us safely to the camp, which we truly appreciated. Once we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. Our room was spacious, the showers were hot, and the staff made sure every request was met promptly.
We were visiting the area for gorilla trekking and, despite planning our trip months in advance, we had not arranged transportation from the camp to the trekking headquarters or starting point. Michael quickly stepped in and organized everything for us at a very reasonable cost. Our driver was also fantastic—fun, engaging, and added to the overall experience.
We highly recommend Volcanoes Over View Safaris and Camp and would gladly stay there again."
"The staff at My Hill Eco Lodge made a 1-week work trip a delight. The rooms are large and simply but perfectly outfitted. The restaurant servers could not have been sweeter or more helpful. (Portions are big! Request Rwandan food if you're curious, especially the local amaranth greens.) The only note: It is indeed on a hill, so not for the faint of heart — or heavy packers."
