Situated on the northeastern side of the Taillefer Isthmus, it covers a 110 km long stretch of coast along the L'Haridon Bight. It is one of only two beaches in the world made entirely from shells. The beach was named "Shell Beach" because of the great abundance of the shells of the cockle species Fragum erugatum. The seawater in the L'Haridon Bight has a high salinity due to both the geomorphology and local climate of the area. This high salinity has allowed the cockle to proliferate unchecked, since its natural predators have not adapted well to this environment. The shells typically reach a depth of 7 to 10 metres. Over time, the shells have formed a limestone that is known as Coquina. #blue #BeachBound

Is called "5 fingers". Those beaches can be reached by a 4WD track from the jetti parking. Easy to follow the map. The track is just a few km but some parts have really soft sand. Good for snorkelling.

The whole stay was like a dream, dolphins swimming around all day, sea turtles, eagle Rays and massive Pelicans. The garden room we stayed in was superb and the staff were friendly, helpful and full of smiles. I would recommend 4 days there to everyone.

The Vlamingh Head Lighthouse is located 17 km north of Exmouth. The Lighthouse overlooks Lighthouse Bay and you can watch the sun rise and set. The Lighthouse was built in 1912 and stands on the northernmost tip of the Cape Range.
