Wander through the 17th-century Dutch fort with its colonial architecture, lighthouse, and sea views that define this UNESCO site. Climb the ramparts at sunset, then sample fresh seafood at harbourside restaurants or join locals playing cricket on grassy squares.
My wife and I had the most amazing experience in this hotel. From the staff, the food, the cocktails, the amenities, everything was splendid. They really do go the extra mile to make your trip wonderful. Kudos to Ronald and team for making our stay great. We stayed at the Taprobane Suite which had an outdoor bathtub which we sadly didnt use as much as we wish we did. The Gallean cocktail by their bartender with an infused arrack was my daily poison. The sri lankan breakfast followed by a dip in...

This is a beautifully restored boutique hotel in the centre of the walled city. The restaurant was amazing and the additional touches like complimentary afternoon tea and happy hour drinks made it hard to leave! The manager deserves special attention for his personal attention. We are very grateful to him for organising our pre-departure PCR tests and making everything easy. Thank you! We cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I had an awesome stay at Yara. The room, bed and bathroom were awesome and the people at the hote were amazing. From the time I arrived until I left they made sure that I was comfortable including specially preparing breakfast for me. Thank you Smith, Rizan and Lukkhana. Hope I got your names right.
The location of the hotel was not far from the main entrance so getting in and going out were easy. I got in, dropped off my luggage and took a stroll to the rest of the fort area.

Walkable distance to the beach and attractions. Clean and cozy hotel. Only thing bothers us is the placement of the basin within the room instead of the bathroom. Overall great experience staying here.

Positives: location, walkable to all that old Galle Fort has to offer. Interesting history of the hotel itself. Pool to cool off in . Room was large. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great (did not eat any other meals here)
Negatives: pool has a dreadful old drain/sewerage smell at the far end (not in the pool itself- but could be from the drainage vents on the end/side?). Shower and sink in the room could do with a really good clean. Sink had a crack right across it. Mosquito net is looking...
