Guest Houses in Gakenke

"After reading how in the ghetto's in Africa, you have to be careful if you are white. We decided it was near airport as stated, but in a shanty town that was with even driving 10 minutes off the main road. There were no restaurants near, if we went out, we would have had to have an escort. The young woman in charge looked at us as if we were strange due to the fact, after seeing the location, we backed out of staying in the motel. "It was NO way a 3-Star hotel. "

"Beautiful hotel well located for hikes in the area. We stayed in the large cottage which is a very nice spacious option for families. Staff was very kind and accommodating (always went the extra mile) and as others have noted the food was really excellent. Light and healthy and tasted very fresh—the best food we had in Rwanda. "

"Recommend if you want to live in the downtown of one of the safest areas in Kigali for a reasonable price, the staff here is what makes this place extra worth it, hospitality at its best"

"The place and hotel room is generally clean. But the room can become stuffy easily. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Good value for money considering the price."

"Nice environment "

"Exceptional customer service! I highly recommend "

Then the owner called stating that it was late so we could stay and that payment could be discussed in the morning. The hotel did not have wifi as advertised, there was no running or hot water...

"I had a king size bed and a bathroom down the hall that was not shared with anyone else. It’s a great value, just be aware of what you are booking."
