Great stay, but hotel could use a little TLC
The staff here was really great. We took a short trip for my husbands birthday, and they went above and beyond to make the stay special. The only downside of this hotel was that some common areas and the room wasn't in the best shape. Overall nice hotel, for a reasonable price. Would go stay again.

The only downfall to the stay was that the hotel is under construction period the staff I spoke with checkin? and Marina were gracious and attentive hosts. I would recommend this hotel to anybody period

Even though the property was in the midst of renovations, the staff made us very comfortable. The food in the dining room was excellent, the rooms were nicely outfitted and the staff were very helpful. Great location, just outside town with views from the side of a ski hill.

A mixed experience
The Guesthouse is not with the actual hotel, it’s about a 150m walk. You have to check in, eat breakfast and check out at the hotel, when staying in the guesthouse. The guesthouse itself has a great restaurant with very friendly staff. However, the room on the second floor is a bit dated. The main hotel is terrific and breakfast, too, was great. In future I would stay in the hotel rather than the guesthouse.

Rural (yet accessible), comfortable, & friendly!
We travel by bus and train only, so this hotel met our needs - it's on two bus lines from the Stadt station, though we walked into town (downhill) on a number of occasions. It's on the ski hill just south of town. The staff was very friendly and welcoming when checking in/out or when dining. They're in the middle of a massive renovation and new-build, but we never heard a thing. Very peaceful & quiet, with the occasional soothing rumble of a train from down in the valley. Stunning views from our room, which had a huge wrap-around balcony. The room was enormous even by American standards, as was the bath. (Fun item: Medicine cabinets swung out from the wall, revealing tiny windows to the outside!) Comfy bed and sitting area, though watching TV at night was awkward, as it was way across the huge room on the desk. Tons of storage so suitcases aren't under foot. Excellent (and free) wifi in the room. The only thing lacking was phone service from the room; we could only call the front desk. Desk staff, however, allowed us to use the office phone to call the airlines when we needed to reschedule our flight on short notice. Food was tasty and plentiful at breakfast and dinner. Lovely short walk uphill to the Berghutte is recommended. Lovely short walk downhill to the bar/restaurant at their sister property is also suggested. Walking trails are plentiful and well-marked.

Nice hotel in a great littel town, superb views both in summer and winter. Good for sking with lift at the hotel. We were visiting friends and the hotel was convenient for us, but very nice and comfortable with a new bathroom. Big rooms and facilities. Very nice. Freudenstadt is a lovely town, worth visiting.

Im Hotelkomplex befindet sich ein hervorragender Wellness- und Entspannungsbereich mit 3 Saunen, Pool und ausreichend Ruhemöglichkeiten. Der Preis des Hotels ist etwas gehoben, allerdings wiegen das Ambiente? die Sauberkeit und das Personal sowie die Küche diesen Aufwand vollends wieder auf. Wir waren jetzt bereits 2 mal dort und werden wieder kommen!

Sehr geehrter "Markus", schade dass Sie uns mit 2 Sternen bewertet haben. Wir gehen davon aus, dass Sie verärgert über die Tatsache waren, dass auf Hotels.com die Bettbezeichnung "Twin-Bed" stand. Diese Bezeichnung kommt nicht von uns als Hotel, sondern wird von der Firma Expedia vorgegeben. Wir haben bei uns im Backend lediglich die Möglichkeit, die Breite der Betten anzugeben. Das System "benennt" diesen Bettentyp dann selbstständig. Eine schlechte Bewertung uns auf dieser Basis zu geben ist daher leider nicht gerechtfertigt, da wir alle uns möglichen Angaben getätigt haben.

Vielen Dank für Ihr Feedback. Es tut uns leid, dass Ihr Zimmerboden Flecken hatte. Wir sind gerade dabei, alle Etagen wieder zu shampoonieren ... das geht leider nur zu gewissen Zeiten, wenn wir die Zimmer für ein paar Tage schließen. Dies ist für die nächsten Wochen sukzessive für die jeweiligen Etagen geplant.

Das Ambiente und die Einrichtung waren sehr einladend auch der Spa-Bereich war weitläufig und lud zum Entspannen ein. Vom Service im Restaurant waren wir enttäuscht, wir haben eine halbe Stunde auf die Rechnung gewartet und wurden immer wieder vertröstet. Auch das Frühstück haben wir uns umfangreicher vorgestellt zum Beispiel mehr frische Säfte statt aus dem Automaten und offenem Frischkäse statt lieblosen Verpackungen. Wir kommen gerne wieder, werden aber wahrscheinlich nicht mehr im Hotel essen.

Der Neubau verfügt über grosszügig dimensionierte Zimmer/Suiten in schlichtem, edlem Design mit meist hochwertigen Materialien (Ausnahme: kratzempfindliche schwarze Oberflächen der Möbel, die zudem perfekte Staubmagnete sind). Die Betten sind von guter Qualität und für ihre Härte/Straffheit überraschend bequem. Das zweite Schlafzimmer verfügte über kein Aussenfenster, die Frischluftzufuhr bei geschlossener Tür war unzureichend. Während drei Grossbild-TV pro Suite klar (viel) zuviel des Guten sind, fehlte es andernorts an Grundlegendem: Im separaten WC gab es keine Seife, in Bad/Dusche kein Duschmittel, sondern nur flüssige Handseife. Die Minibar war leer, der Snack- und Getränkeautomat im EG war gerade mal zu 10% befüllt. Unsere Suite war mit mehreren Thermostaten ausgestattet, die scheinbar einstellbaren waren, aber keinerlei Wirkung entfalteten. Mitte Oktober herrschte - ohne Sonneinstrahlung - in allen Räumen eine Temperatur von 24.5 Grad. Im Zimmer waren null schriftliche Gästeinformationen verfügbar, auf dem TV-Infokanal ebenso. Auf Rückfrage hiess es am Empfang, es sei online eine Gästeinfomappe herunterladbar. Der eine der zwei vorhandenen Lifte war die ganze Zeit unseres Aufenthalts defekt, der andere zeitweilig ebenfalls. Die Tiefgarage kostete 8 Euro pro Tag, obwohl der Aussenparkplatz wegen Bauarbeiten gesperrt und nicht benutzbar war. Die meisten parkten daher ihr Auto entlang der Zufahrtstrasse. Sehr schöne neue Zimmer. Die Lage ist es perfekt. Leider passt das gastronomische Konzept noch nicht zum Rest. Das Frühstück ist super aber abends ist die Auswahl seht gering und die Qualität der Speisen leider nicht überzeugend.

Super Hotel neben einer großen Baustelle.
Die Umgebung ist nur vorrübergehend schlecht. Es ist eine große Baustelle, sonst schöne Lage im Wald.

Ottimo hotel appena fuori dal paese e immerso nel verde. Camera grande nonostante il letto aggiunto e bagno con 2 lavandini; dotata inoltre di balcone privato con sedie e tavolini per rilassarsi all'aperto. Personale molto gentile, colazione con scelta di vari salumi, formaggi, pane, marmellate, uova, brioches,succhi, etc. (è in costruzione una nuova area, ma non pregiudica l'accesso; a volte si potrebbero sentire alcuni rumori di prima mattino, comunque non fastidiosi)
