I booked this hotel because my grandmother had just been discharged from the hospital and needed a few days of rest before she could fly. We were on a family trip and had a medical emergency, so we needed a clean, safe room suitable for someone who depends on oxygen. This hotel failed on every level.
On the very first day we found mold, a strong smell of humidity, mildew, and the room even flooded due to an obvious drainage issue. Although staff “fixed” it, the room remained wet and they were unable to move us to another room.
The next day I had to fly to Kerrville to personally take my grandmother out of that hotel and move her somewhere safe. The manager on duty only offered an apology with no real solution.
When I contacted Expedia, I was told they couldn’t do anything because the hotel manager, Tina, claimed they found baby wipes in the bathroom and that this supposedly caused the flooding. That statement is completely false. Regarding the mold, mildew, humidity, and the poor conditions of the room, the hotel stated that “none of these issues were present,” which is an outright lie.
I am attaching photos so you can see the condition of the room for yourselves. It is extremely disappointing that a hotel with history and reputation would allow such hazardous conditions that clearly put guests’ health at risk. I will be filing a report with the Texas Department of State Health Services to prevent anyone else from going through this.
Please do not stay here.
