"Beautiful estate and outstanding hospitality. The room was clean and cosy, had a neat little balcony for you to sit outside in the evening. Breakfast was always hearty and generous in portions. There was also a tennis court onsite which we didn’t know about, so that was a good surprise. The estate is on the wine tram line so it’s really easy if u just wanna hop on and off to other places with no trouble. Overall 10/10 Wished we had longer stay!"

Cape Vue Country House

"Cape Vue Country House was a beautiful place to stay in Franschhoek, with incredible mountain and vineyard views. Set on a wine farm but only a 5 to 10 minute walk from the town centre, the location was perfect. The property is beautifully decorated, welcoming and peaceful, with a lovely honesty bar. Breakfast was a real highlight, with a fantastic choice of freshly cooked dishes including eggs Benedict, Turkish eggs and banana bread French toast. Everything was delicious! Dino and Fezikile were incredibly friendly and attentive. It was clear they genuinely wanted us to have a wonderful stay, and their hospitality made us feel so welcome. Our only criticism was the lighting in our room. Although it felt cosy, it was quite dark in the evenings, making it difficult to get ready for dinner. The design seemed to prioritise atmosphere over practicality, and better lighting around the mirrors and dressing areas would have made a real difference. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend Cape Vue. The beautiful setting, excellent location, outstanding breakfasts and genuinely warm hospitality made it a lovely base for our honeymoon."

"We had an amazing stay. Booked 1 night but loved it so much we stayed an extra night. It is a lovely setting Bouchon mess really spacious. Loved the freestanding bath. The staff were all warm, helpful & welcoming, especially Patience & Dina. The handyman even changed our flat tyre for us. The breakfast was delicious & the honesty bar was a great idea for a late night drink. Easy 10 minute walk into town or a £2 uber Would highly recommend."

"The apartment at The Ivy is a wonderful "home away from home" . The location is perfect as it is on the main road where you can shop, eat & browse. The apartment is serviced every day & the staff are unobtrusive , giving you time to laze around in the morning before they come. This property would probably have earned 5 stars , if not for 2 minor downfalls : 1. There are no flat/top sheets on the beds. Given the heat of Franschhoek, it would be great to have the option of only covering oneself with a sheet; 2. The apartment which we had stayed in window blinds are not easy to open & close. The one blind to the balcony couldn't close & the light from the signage outside "The Ivy" shines rights into the Main bedroom. I think that even with the blinds closed, it would still shine through. Overall though, this a fantastic property choice for a weekend away or even for tourists. It is tastefully furnished & the owners have definitely thought of almost everything ."
