East and South of Fort Sumner, you will find the infamous Billy the Kid's grave site. It is in a cage and then bolted to the ground in another cage to keep people from stealing his tombstone, which has been stolen a few times they say.
On the eastern outskirts of town, you will find the now-abandoned Taiban Presbyterian Church, which was built in 1908.

The room wasnt secure, i have pictures showing a broken door lock along with a unsecure window and window screen being kept shut using a piece of wood in the frame, its clear the room has been broken into before.
